“Oh! I can’t believe it! I Can’t believe it! I can’t believe the Avatar made it to the finales! If they win, do you realize that they’ll be champs? Not only that, you’ll know them, Bri! To think, my sister, knowing the Pro Bending Champs…wow.”
“Well, if they do, how about this; I bring them one day to meet you?”
“AHHHHH!”
Her high pitch child-like scream pierced the air, forcing me to cover my ears to protected it from the painful noise. Maia fell back onto her bed, holding her pillow to her chest. When she stopped screaming I stood from my stool and over looked her.
“You okay?”
She was breathing heavy, as she looked at the ceiling, her eyes glassed over with tears. They glided over to me, her face breaking into a smile.
“OF COURSE!”
She grabbed my shoulders, and pulled me into a tight hug. I laughed, and hugged her.
“ Good morning, citizens of Republic City. This is Amon.”
My laughing died at once as I sat up to look at the radio which had just been playing music seconds ago. Maia’s arms, still around me, got tighter.
“I hope you enjoyed last night’s Pro Bending match, because, it will be the last. It’s time for this city to stop worshiping Bending Athletes as if they were heroes. I am calling on the Council to shut down the Arena, and cancel the Finales. Or else there will be server consequences.”
The radio then fizzed out, and the music started once more.
“…Cancel the Finales? Bri, tell me it isn’t so.”
I looked down to my sister, who looked so young with her hair hanging around her face, her big hazel eyes staring up at me.
“I-I-I don’t know. But I’m going to. I’m going to go visit the Council. If I know Korra, I know she will too. I’ll be back, and when I do, I’m going to bring the champ Fire Ferrets to meet you.”
Her arms got tighter.
“No, please don’t leave me… Bri, I’m scared.”
I slipped down so that we were eye to eye. Her eyes shined in the morning light, and I gave a small smile.
“My little Cherry Blossom, I must leave. You are so safe here. Amon wouldn’t dare hurt the healing.”
I hope he won’t. Who would kill the sick and dying?
“Okay, but promise you’ll bring Korra with you next time.”
“And Bolin and even Moody Mako.”
She gave a small smile, and I hugged her. I held my breath, closing my eyes. We pulled apart, and I planted a light kiss on her cheek.
“I love you.”
“Love you too.”
I came rushing through the Council building, nearly falling as I stopped when I met Bolin and Mako. Luckily for me, Bolin reached out to catch me. My face turned red, as he placed me back onto my feet. I gave a goofy smile.
“The-tha-thanks… Have you seen Korra or Tenzin?”
They pointed, and I rushed on.
“You and Beifong, Beifong and you, you two were a couple!”
“What, how? Where’s you get that idea?”
I came rushing around the corner, running into Korra.
