Then
Dear Korra,
I hope you are doing well. If you’ve sent any letters, I have yet to receive them and if you haven’t; it’s okay. I’m sure you’re busy. I promise to keep this letter short, as I have been lately. I’ve been so busy though I don’t know how I ever will! To start off, I adore being a teacher. I’m actually pretty good at, my students are amazing and we all get along so well. As for more personal matters, Kwon and I will be celebrating our three month anniversary this coming weekend. He gets four days off and will be coming into the City to spend it together. In his last letter, he spoke more of going to the Earth Kingdom. Apparently Kuvira’s having a bit more of a problem with bandits then she originally thought she would. His service with the UN is almost up, and Kuriva is taking Earth Kingdom volunteers. He would be welcomed, despite his Fire Nationality, because his father’s family is originally from the Earth Kingdom. His mother and father met when his mother was living in the Earth Kingdom. Her parents lived one of the Fire Nation Colonies, and after they were disbanded they moved to the Earth Kingdom. It was short lived as her parents went back to the Fire nation to run the family shop once his mother's grandparents passed. The only reason his parents went to the Fire Nation was because her father finally got old and needed help with the shop. I’m sorry, I promised to keep it short.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Zabri
With a small bounce in my step, I mailed off Korra’s letter. Making sure my back was tight on my back, I opened my glider. Taking off, I was quick to switch myself around, to where I was surfing on my glider. I had Kwon’s gifts in my bag and refused to mess them up. Flying into the city, I brought myself lower as I looked for the hotel he was staying at. Kwon had gotten in late the night before and we had made plans to meet in the lobby. I spotted the hotel, and came in for a landing. Closing my glider, I stuffed it in my bag, and adjusted my skirt. I had become a master of taking off, flying and landing with a skirt on. For some reason, it had become a style of mine. I abandoned the tom boy look of skin tight pants and t shirts in exchange for skirts and curls. Kwon thought I looked good in them too.
The lobby was semi-crowded; there was a family at the front desk checking in, a man sipping a cup of coffee at built in café and reading the paper, and then there was Kwon. He stood at the small koi-fish pond, standing over the pond on the bridge. Smiling, I walked over to him.
“Hi.” He turned at the sound of my voice, a smile clear on his face. He leaned in, and brushed his lips against my forehead.
“Hi.”
“Ready for today?”
“I am,” I wrapped my arm around his out stretched elbow, “To the tea house first?”
“To the tea house first.”

“So, how did you enjoy Harmony Tower?”
“It was amazing; I kind of got an idea of how it feels when you fly. Am I right?”
“Yeah, you can see the world from my view, but nothing beats the feeling of your stomach flopping around as you shoot around the sky, the wind in your face-” I closed my eyes with a content sigh.
“I wish I could feel it.” I opened my eyes, stopping us midstride.
“Wait- I think you might be able to.”
“What do you mean?”
“For my last surprise, I got you tickets for the Pro-bending match tonight; it’s the Ember Island Eel Hounds vs Xiao Yao Zebra Frog. I know how much you love the Eel Hounds and I convinced Mako to hook me up with front row seats.”
“Really- wait, Mako as in the Moody Mako from your letters- isn’t he Bolin’s brother? As in, Bolin your ex?”
“Well, yeah, but we’re still friends and that’s not the point Kwon, the point is I got you front row tickets for your favorite pro-bending team! So now, I need an answer, do you want to fly?” He ran a hand through his short hair.
“Sure, yeah. How are we going to do this?”
“Come with me.” Smiling, I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the nearest alley.
I pulled my glider from my bag, opening it. I showed him how to hold it, helping him slip his hands into holder. I explained to him how he needed to keep his stomach tight, legs close together and feet straight. I also explained to him how I would shoot him up into the air, and then hop onto the top of the glider. At the mention of at part, he got a bit pale, I reassured him- giving him a peck on the lips. I then told him how we would land, with the aid of gravity and a nice ball of air.
Giving him one last final check-over, I gave him another kiss and then sent him up into the air. He let out a loud shout, wooting and laughing. I sent myself up next, catching the glider before it could be sent back to the ground. Slipping my feet into the holder, I balanced us out. The gilder shook gently, and my hands shot out to balance myself. My glider had never flown two people and I had never flown with another person on my glider.
We balanced out, and suddenly everything became calm.
The wind blew my hair back, the setting sun basking my face with it’s warm hue.
Below me Kwon gasped and laughed at the sights, the sounds- the feelings.
His voice screaming out "This is amazing!"
The words 'I Love you.'
It was in this moment, that all was right.
Bringing our journey to an end, I left Kwon in the perfect landing position, and hopped off. I landed on the ground, my skirt poofing slightly as I did. Turning, I brought up a gentle breeze to carry Kwon in. As he came to gentle landing, his legs came out, but stumbled. He landed on the ground in a pile, my glider nose diving before falling over. Rushing over, I grabbed my baby.
Closing my glider, I sat it beside me and reached out for Kwon. “Are you okay?” I brought him up, and saw that he wasn’t wheezing, as I had first thought- but laughing.
“Are- you kidding me?! I’m great! That was- AMAZING! I was flying!! I was like a bird- I could see everything! And-and-and I felt it! That feeling of my stomach flopping? I felt it! My stomach was down in my toes- and then my mouth! I loved it!” I smiled at him, giggling.
“I’m glad you liked it, ready for the match now?” I helped him up, both of us laughing as I did.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I stuffed my glider in my bag.
