"does it matter that your dad works here?" "yes! of course it matters. he hasn't seen me in ages so if he spots me then he's not just gonna let me walk back out."
jeno bit his lip as he tried to think of something that would calm the girl's nerves.
"oh... we're here." "oh wait, i know this place." "lemme, guess, you own this too."
donghyuck shook his head, eyebrows furrowing in thought. "no... this place... the company, it had a bad case of whistle-blowers a few years back. they almost went bankrupt and lost loads of employees."
"what has that got to do with now though?" "the rumours were bad, really bad. and they weren't false."
jeno sucked in a breath. of course, they needed someone who was capable of criminality, but as bad as donghyuck was describing was excessive. and in turn they could run the risk of their candidate being a snake.
just then, he caught sight of a dark green cap that seemed all too familiar. a voice called from under the cap, "looking for wong yukhei, right?"
he took a few steps closer to him, trying to see his face. but his head stayed firmly facing the ground. "who are you?" he asked tentatively.
"that's not the question of the matter here," the voice responded, "now are you looking for him or not?" "why did you kill yangyang?" "i told you, that's not the question, are you looking for yukhei?"
the boy thought for a second. would he go and kill yukhei too and possibly destroy all chances of them having a full team?
before he could make up his mind though, donghyuck answered. "yeah, we're looking for him. why'd you ask?"
"i hope you're aware how many whistle-blowers this company had and still has." "yeah we know, and so what?"
the unidentified person hissed before exhaling again. as though their naivety was itching his soul.
"wong yukhei is a spy. he's not going to run for you. he left the running world to become a spy."
