it was only a few minutes until the beginning of the race. apprehension had swollen in his stomach like a tumour and he couldn't stop thinking.
"congrats you guys."
he smiled thinly at the two in front of him, who were now a couple.
seeing the two of them like that made his heart jealous. green envy made his heart beat in emerald, and his fingers tightened together.
it should've been that way for him and heloise. why was it so difficult for the two of them to make that mutual agreement? for both of them to be ready at the same time?
why was it so complicated? why were emotions like a labyrinth, going around in circles without an end?
why did he feel rejected, or as though he had been pushed away from her heart? when she gave him perfect access but he denied it?
why did seeing donghyuck and renjun happy with each other make him want to break something?
would it be all different if he had said yes? or maybe if she had never ignored his confession in the first place? or if they had never met?
would he have found another way to fall so deeply in love with her? or would he be out of this mess, in the new comeback and dating his ex-best friend?
did the universe tie them together? or were they just shoved together by serendipity? and if it was the later, did they deserve to be together?
was it ever supposed to work?
jeno walked out into the gloom of the dark clouded night. he needed something to take his mind off the girl, before she ate up all of his brain cells.
he slipped his phone out from his back pocket to put flash on so he could illuminate the path.
but his attention was soon enough taken at the sight of more messages piling up.
