Luz immediately sprung up from her "bed" upon hearing her alarm, and once she did, she slammed her hand on the dismiss button silencing her loud and obnoxious alarm.
"Good morning Boiling Isles! Time for Luz's first day of school!" She jumped up from her sleeping bag and rushed over to the bathroom. After turning the knob for the shower, she quickly undressed and stepped inside, the hot water immediately burning her.
"Ow ow!" She laughed, turning the knob so it would get cooler. "Alright Luz, first day at a completely new school! No being called a freak, you get to meet some new people that could possibly be friends, all that school cool stuff! Time for textbooks and sharpening your pencil through the loud pencil sharpener, lockers that can fit people inside, just think of High School the Musical, but without the musical part." Luz's eyes immediately sparkled.
"Oooh wait, do you think there's a theater club in Hexside? Or a play? A musical?!" Luz squealed. "I have to ask Eda that later!"
Luz giggled, school was soon, and she couldn't wait.
"Would you rather have 5 children, or surrender yourself to the police?" Lucía called out from the couch as she looked through her phone, turning her head over to the kitchen to reveal Eda in a yellow baggy shirt with a purple-red-ish apron over it, a spatula in hand.
"I would rather kill myself, thank you."
"Aww, but don't you want a big family?" Lucía cooed. "You have wittle ol' me and my wittle sister, you have Kingy and Hooty out there too. Does Eda secretly wuv ussss?"
"Now I see why you get into fights."
"What's up famil-ay!" Luz jumped off the top of the stairs to the bottom, the force and weight of her backpack immediately hit Luz's back and forced her to the ground, something broke. In the backpack, not from Luz.
"I'm okay!" She held up a thumbs up.
