She let out a quiet groan once the feeling of sunlight on her closed lids became more noticeable, forcing her to shut her eyes even tighter.
With her mind already disturbed, she leaned into the pillow even more, doing her best to ignore this ever happened and go back to sleep.
Warmth.
Warmth was all she felt.
No barely audible snoring, no doors opening and closing from outside, no voices from tired adults dragging themselves to work, nothing.
Just the faint sound of people talking.
She didn't like that new change.
With that in mind, she began noticing her breathing pattern.
With an upset and awake mind, she decided there wasn't any reason to lay in bed and pretend to be asleep anymore.
Slowly, she opened her eyes, mixtures of yellows, oranges, and browns all mixing in front of her as the first thing she saw was her arm right in front of her face.
She had been huddled up in a ball, her right cheek pressed against the pillow.
She stared at the wall in front of her, slowly allowing her mind to process the things around her. And as she tried to form some words, she realized that she couldn't. The only thing she could do was scrunch her eyes.
Was she too tired? Too exhausted?
She didn't know.
With a long inhale, she picked herself up and laid her back against the pillow, a yawn ringing out.
"Hello?" she asked.
Immediately, she cut herself off.
Was that her voice?
As she put her hand on her chest, she cleared her throat, bewildered at the way her voice sounded.
She sounded awful.
Unfortunately, that was something she was going to have to worry about at another time. She had another issue to deal with.
She wasn't home.
Well, she was home, just not home home.
She reached her hand up and tried to drag her hand down her face in an attempt to wake herself up some more, but as she saw the sleeve of the jacket she was wearing, she froze.
Her drowsy feeling immediately washed away as she couldn't help but stare.
