The door.

At the sound of its opening, Luz's eyes immediately widened as she jerked her head in the direction of the sound. Although she was expecting her to come in sooner or later, it still caught her by surprise.

"Hey, sleepy head," she smiled as her face softened, trying to force her foot into her shoe. "Good morning!"

"Hey," Amity responded with surprise in her voice and her hand on the door, taken aback by Luz's never-ending bursts of energy that never failed to make her smile. "Morning."

Luz couldn't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach begin to float around carelessly once more, her eyes and smile widening in turn.

Today, Luz wanted to do something different.

Ever since Amity and her had officially become best friends again, tons of old and new ideas that Luz planned to do with Amity before their fallout began to sprout back up again. With her head high and her spirits higher, she just had to make up for all that lost time and activities the two of them missed out on.

And today was just the start, since she only had one objective in mind.

Walk to school with Amity.

Sure, it sounded stupid, she knew, but for her, this was a big thing.

So you can bet that, as soon as Luz heard her alarm in the morning, she immediately sprung out her sleeping mat and got dressed for the day.

And with Amity already out of the room, it made the execution of Luz's plan turn out easier than she could have anticipated.

Now, with the surprise finally revealed, the two were now staring directly at each other.

She saw Amity's face soften and a cocky smirk begin to grow, her eyebrow slightly rising.

"Wait, you're calling me sleepyhead?" she said with a chuckle, making her way to her side of the room before continuing. "Aren't you the one sleeping in all the time?"

Instantly, Luz focused up. She saw this as a challenge - a challenge she wouldn't let Amity win. A determined look took over her face, making her stand up from off the floor as she tried stomping to try and get her foot in her shoe.

"Not today I'm not!" she let out with high optimism, letting out a laugh once she was able to properly get her shoe in. "I, dear Amity, will walk with you to school!"

She froze, thinking that thought over before correcting herself.

"If that's okay!"

Amity couldn't help but laugh at Luz's dorkiness, rolling her eyes before pulling her bag up to her.

"You don't have to do that," she smiled, "I'm perfectly safe, Luz, don't worry."
