30 minutes.
It had been 30 minutes since Lucía started working.
30 minutes that the shop had been open.
30 minutes that she hadn't come in.
Lucía groaned.
"When is Blight even getting here!? I can't do all of this by myself!" Lucía yelled as she continued to place all the toppings onto the pizza. Curse this guy for ordering literally everything on this damn pizza.
"Uh...I'm not really sure Lucía...she didn't say anything about being late today." The owner, Bay, poked his head out from the back of the store. He then proceeded to fully step out with a box. Nervously, he sat down the box next to the ingredients, a nervous look on his face.
"Those are the supply for the toppings."
"Great." Lucía continued to throw pepperonis onto the pizza.
"Could you uh...could you go and check up on her?" Bay asked, and this made Lucía stop her intense process and look up at the owner.
"What?"
"You know...could you go check up on Amelia? I know the two of you are close and well...she's your friend, right? I would like to make sure that my employees are safe and not hurt, so if you checked up on her, that would be most grateful. You know, since the two of you are...friends, or something." Bay nervously scratched his cheek as his other hand was being hidden in the back of him.
"But what about work?" Lucía asked, finishing up the finishing task of decorating the pizza with its toppings.
"Ah forget about work." He waved his hand. "I can handle it. Besides, today's not a busy day anyway."
"Tell that to all the pizzas I have to make." Lucía pointed her thumb to all the on ovens, pizzas filling almost every single one.
"Don't worry about it, I got it." Bay smiled.
"Alright..." Lucía slowly removed the black apron that was over her white and purple striped shirt, and after doing so, she walked into the staff room and put her black cap and apron back onto the hanger. Once she came out of the room, she came back out with her signature poofy green jacket and maroon beanie in hand.
"Now are you sure I could leave Bay? I would hate for me to just leave you with all the work." Lucía layed her hand on her hip, still unsure about everything she was about to do.
"Yes yes, you can go!" He called out, a small smile on his face.
"Alright...I'm going nooooww!" She made her way over to the entrance of the store, and as she looked back, she saw the owner waving at her.
