"Hey, Lucía? Did you see anything you like that we could make for breakfast?" Amelia's voice called out from right behind Lucía, poking her head out just enough for Lucía to see her in her peripheral vision.
Lucía pressed her tongue against her cheek and groaned, looking down at the floor.
"Not really. Everything has been pretty reused by now, sorry."
She closed the door to the fridge and sighed, feeling the rumbles in her stomach.
The two had now been living with each other for about a week or so at this point, and in that time, they were able to get comfortable with living with each other, figure out the living situations, the way the two would act around the apartment, and each other's organization rules.
They both went out shopping for some small things around the house, like utensils, more food, and some other necessities, but other than that, the only noteworthy thing that was even worth mentioning was how Lucía had now gotten her own key to the apartment, which was already decorated with some kind of random monster sticker Amelia had put on.
And now that they were both roomies, deciding on food was now twice as difficult.
"This suuckkksssss!" Lucía half-yelled, earning a little giggle from Amelia.
"What, tired of eggs already?"
"Ame, I don't need your sass right now, girl, you hear me?" Lucía moved her head up and motioned her finger slicing across her neck. "The amount of eggs I've had to eat in my lifetime is unbearable enough."
With Lucía's last words, the two had a little silence before Amelia was the one to break it with her laughs, leaving the two to completely forget the situation and laugh it off.
Reality hit like a truck though because food was still a priority, especially to Lucía.
"So, what's the plan?" Amelia turned around and leaned against the counter, crossing her arms as she looked up at Lucía.
"Weeee coouuuldd goooooo out to eat?" Lucía dragged out her words in an attempt to find something even remotely a good idea, and unfortunately, that's all she had, and honestly, she wasn't too sure about the idea herself.
"You wanna go out for breakfast? Do you know if we even have the kinda money to just spend like that?" Amelia's eyebrows scrunched up a bit as she watched the gears in Lucía's head turn before she just gave up and shrugged.
"I mean, it's not like we're poor. Besides, we have to keep our priorities in check too. Actually, those exact priorities say that we should get food and going out to eat is the only way to cure it, so come on!" Lucía paused a bit before an idea struck. She cleared her throat and then proceeded to put on some kind of accent in her voice, nudging Amelia in the process. "Life is much more bearable with some good ol' diner food, yea?"
A snort creeped out from Amelia as she then raised her brow, a smile on her face.
