Everyone's Step Towards Anew

"So, uh, did I tell you guys that Amity is living with me?"

Willow and Gus both almost choked on their food when they heard Luz say those words so calmly, taking a breather before they both simultaneously spoke.

"WHAT?!"

"Yeah." Luz poked at her cafeteria lunch food with her fork, feeling like she was going to puke at the sight of it, but somehow, she kept it in.

"Well, are you gonna explain more on that, or are you just going to keep that to yourself?!" Gus slammed his hands onto the table and leaned forward, making Luz lean back a bit as she showed him a small smirk, pushing his head gently away from her.

"Of course I am, it's just-" Luz looked back down at her food, her smirk dropping. She considered whether or not she was going to eat whatever this was, but after taking a double take at how it was making her feel just by looking at it, she grimaced and pushed it away from her.

"I don't know. About a week and a half ago, Amity and the twins came knocking on my door, saying they wanted to 'have a sleepover.'"

"Have a sleepover?" Willow's face scrunched up in confusion as she then saw Luz shrug.

"Exactly my reaction." She sighed. "They stayed the night, but they never left the next day. After school is when Amity and the twins came up and told us they needed a place to stay."

"Well, why did they end up having to stay with you guys?" Willow raised her eyebrow as she picked a chip from her bag of chips, taking a bite out of it.

Luz bit her bottom lip before she sighed once again, stretching as she then rested leaning back.

"I shouldn't say anything about it. It's not my business and it's just- confusing."

"You like her?"

"What? Gus, no." She immediately reacted back, making a face at the question before putting her elbow on the table. "It's weird. I used to, but with how she treated all you guys, I just think I lost it. It's also weird how she's just, trying to be a better person now?"

"Oh yeah, I know about that." Willow perked up as she saw Luz turn to her in confusion, her eyebrows pressing against each other.

"What do you mean?"

"Well-" Willow swallowed down the last bit of her chip as she then flattened the end down with her hand. "Amity stopped by my house maybe about a week ago, I believe? She went and apologized for everything she did to me and for hurting all of us. I think we're kinda cool now."

This time, it was both Luz and Gus' turn to look at Willow in shock, watching as she was just unknowingly playing off this situation like it was just another day. Another random day where Amity actually apologizes, that is.
