Water tribe <3
The South Pole was alive with fires going and ancient songs playing. Kids ran around playing games while elders sat together to share stories of the old days. Sokka sat awaiting the arrival of his boyfriend Y/N. Sokka had stayed in your home nation for a couple weeks while traveling with the avatar and within those couple weeks he had fallen head over heels for you. Now you were finally gonna visit the Southern Water tribe all the way in the South Pole for your 1 year anniversary. You had been dating for a year now even though it was long distance and you had to use messenger hawks to communicate.
"There is a ship on the horizon !" Katara yelled to Sokka.
Sokka quickly stood and turned to his dad for permission, his dad nodded and Sokka ran off towards the shore. He ran along the slippery snow, falling on his face once or twice. But he skidded to a perfect stop on the icy beach to watch as your ship slowly made it's way there.
Your ship pulled to a slow stop and rested on the shore. Soon the hull was lowered like a ramp and you made your way down. You started slowly to get a feel of your new surroundings but all that patience was lost when you laid eyes apon Sokka. You couldn't help the huge smile on your face as you ran down the ramp and tackled Sokka into a platypus bear hug.
The two of you laughed and Sokka hugged you right back. You had toppled over into the snow but neither of you seemed to care because you were where you wanted to be. Entrapped in the others arms.
"It's great to see you again." You said and pulled away to look at Sokka's face. You moved some hair out of his face and smiled down at him.
He smiled and pulled you into a kiss, "It's only been a year." he said sarcastically.
You punched his shoulder at the comment and stood up. You almost slipped on the ice but Sokka immediately caught you. "Oh what's this? You're falling for me?"
"Spirits Sokka shut up." You said but there was no venom behind your words.
He smiled and picked you up suddenly, "Sokka! I can walk!"
"Not without falling you cant! Let me carry you it'll be faster." He said.
It wasn't. He struggled at points to try and carry you while balancing on ice but he managed to make it back to the village having only dropped you twice. One of the times he was brought down with you and you had just sat there and laughed.
When you got back to the village Katara was the first to come over and greet you. You had heard several tales about her from Sokka but had never meet the sister in person. But it was nice to finally put a face (and not a poorly drawn one by Sokka) to the name.
That's when the Avatar himself rolled over on an air ball and introduced himself. You might have fanboyed a little bit because its the avatar, I mean who wouldn't. He was nice and you felt like in the short time you were talking you had become his friend. Which was awesome.
But then Hakoda and Gran Gran walked over to the little group of friends and you went still. Just by their auras you could tell it was Sokka's dad and grandmother. He was not lying about his dad giving off a leader vibe and his grandma a very scary, would beat you with an icicle vibe.
"Hi, I'm Y/N." You introduced and gave a slight bow to them.
Hakoda smiled down at you while Gran Gran looked you over, "He'll do." Was all Gran Gran said then made her way back to her tent to retire for the night, despite it being only noon.
Sokka's face was red while Hokoda boasted about Sokka to you and you were eating up every tale he told you.
"Alright alright! That's enough, I think I deserve some time with my own boyfriend thank you." Sokka said and grabbed your hand, dragging you away from his dad and to his tent.
When you walked in you were greeted by the warmth you missed oh so much and a very strong smell of seal jerky. You smiled at your boyfriends cozy tent and sat with him on the animal pelts that coated the floor and acted like carpet.
Sokka smiled at you and you smiled back, "I can't believe I'm actually looking at your face." He mumbled. "I forgot how handsome you were."
"How handsome I am." You corrected and reached for his hand. You intertwined your fingers and scooted closer to him. "Next time your visiting my place. It's a lot warmer there."
Sokka laughed and let you cuddle into his side. He grabbed a blanket and wrapped it around the two of you. "Weakling." He joked.
You lightly punched his leg, "Shut up. Just warm me up peasant."
Sokka faked a gasp and placed a hand over his heart, "Rude." He said but his smile gave away he didn't mean it.
He leaned over and kissed you, sending warmth through your body and how you missed his lips. So that's how you stayed. Bundled up next to Sokka in his tent, sharing kisses and holding hands. The year of waiting was totally worth it.
