When it comes to schoolwork you're absolutely brilliant but when it comes to anything else? Dumb af. You could get perfect scores on all of your owl's but correctly tie your shoes? Never.
It was a lovable trait that most found amusing but to two certain wizards it was incredibly annoying.
"L/N! You look remarkable today as always." Draco complimented as the two of you walked through the halls of Hogwarts.
"Thanks. You look great too!" You complimented back, the fact that he was flirting with you going right over your head.
Draco gave a smile to you but it quickly turned into a scowl as the golden trio walked past. Ron gave you a wave and you happily returned it. You made it your goal to be friendly to anyone no matter the house. But it still seemed to be a shock to everyone how you could befriend Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley at the same time.
But here's the thing. You didn't have a say in the matter. Both made a point everyday to talk to you, to compliment you, and try to win you over. Both boys had fallen for you and both wanted you to themselves. So you could say you were in a bit of a predicament. Even though you didn't know about their feelings towards you in the slightest.

"Y/N watch your left!" Ron shouted to you during a friendly match.
"Got it!" You called back and dodged to rampaging bludger. "Thanks mate!"
You heard the crowd cheer for your dodge and you spared them a charming smile. You even gave a quick wave when you saw the infamous platinum blond hair you had grown accustomed to seeing.
Draco never came to friendly matches but all because you were playing he had made time. Only to get there and realize you were playing with/against Weasley. Who he had forgotten also played quidditch. So he was left in the stands watching Weasley send heart eyes your way. Draco had a hunch Ron fancied you and he would be damned if he ever let that happen.
But on the other side of things Ron had watched you throw a wave towards Draco's direction and he was left a little grumpy. He already hated Malfoy with a burning passion, always had sense the very first day at Hogwarts when he made fun of him. Not a great first impression. But he hated him even more every time he saw him flirt or hang around you. He knew you were to nice to ever deny someone's company but he just wished you would tell Malfoy to bug off. He's rather cough up slugs again then watch you date Malfoy.

Lunch was a bit of hassle. There was free reign over seats so it was a constant battle between Malfoy and Weasley to see who you would sit with. Really all you cared about was who was closer to the door but you were too polite to just leave friends hanging when they wanted you to sit with them.
"Y/N!!" The two boys yelled out to you the moment you walked into the great hall.
This was probably your least favorite part of the day. Having to chose between them. But thank Merlin they made it easy today because don't get it wrong you are a very kind person, you try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but there was one person you couldn't stand. Pansy Parkinson, who was in fact sitting by Draco today so hard pass.
