Eddie with a fear of lightning just feels right idk
Thunder crashed outside as the rain beat against your window. The lighting allowing small moments of light to enter your bedroom. Illuminating the tears streaming down your tired face. It was just one of those days. Nothing bad happened but nothing good happened either. Leaving you to your thoughts all day. When that happened it almost always ended up causing a mental breakdown.
Music hummed in the corner of your bedroom, trying to distract you from your thoughts but the thunder and rain drowned it out. A particularly loud bang made you jump and roll onto your side, hugging the closets pillow to your chest tightly. Crying into the pillow your sobs mixed with the raging storm outside covered the sound of the doorbell going off.
Only when the storm seemed to pause for a moment did you hear someone pressing the doorbell repeatedly. Groggily getting up from your bed you made your way towards the front door. Before opening the door, you glance in a mirror to try and fix your face to resemble a mentally stable person who wasn't just having a break down.
When you opened the door, you were met with a soggy Eddie Munson smiling at you. "Well hello there pretty boy. Mind if I seek shelter?"
You smiled back at him and let him in. "What are you doing out in this storm? Your house is like 10 miles away."
"What, can't I enjoy a good storm?" Eddie joked, dodging the question.
Lighting flashed near your house, and you saw Eddie jump. He played it off by adjusting his jacket but you could tell by the way his eyes scanned the room for a distraction that he didn't like that lightning too much.
"Don't tell me the Eddie Munson is afraid of a little lightning?" You asked and turned on the living room lights.
"What? No, I- are you okay?" Eddie stepped towards you.
"Why do you ask?" You looked to him than glanced in the mirror behind his head.
Your eyes were red and puffy and there were clear eyebags under that as well. Your face looked like shit.
"Were you crying? What happened?" Eddie held your face in his hand and lightly rubbed his thumbs over your cheeks.
You could feel your face heat at the action. "I'm fine." You said as you pulled away from his hands. "Let's focus on you and your lighting thing and not me."
Eddie looked at you concerned but that quickly left as another strike of lightning hit. "Alright. But we are circling back to it later got it?"
"Yeah yeah. Come on." You grabbed his hand and led him to your room.
Setting him on the bed you turned up the volume on the music playing and hung a blanket over your window to try and block out some sound and light. You then joined him on the bed.
"Thank you." Eddie smiled at you.
"Of course. Anything for a... friend." You smiled back.
The friend comment hung over your heads as the two of you laid in silence for a moment. But a strike of lighting made Eddie jump and he grabbed your hand.
You pulled him closer to you and it felt almost natural how he snaked and arm around your waist and how you started playing with his hair. Focusing on the touch of one another the storm seemed like background noise to the shallow breaths you were both taking.
"Any better?" You ask softly.
He gave a nod. "How bout you?"
"Better now that you're here."
"Wanna tell me why you were crying?" He asked softly.
"It was just one of those days." You said.
He nodded and hugged you tighter to him. "I'm always free if you wanna call instead of being by yourself."
You couldn't help but smile, "I'll remember that next time."
Moving some of his hair out of his eyes you leaned your forehead against his.
"Are we about to kiss right now?" Eddie joked, ruining the lovely mood.
"I will smother you with a pillow."
"That doesn't sound very sexy."
"You make it so hard to like you."
Eddie laughed, "But you do anyway don't cha?"
"Sadly." You let out an exaggerated sigh.
You both laughed and moved closer to each other. You had forgotten just how much Eddie brightened your mood. Sure when he opened his mouth he was a mood killer but just being next to him made you feel better. He was a breath of fresh air in your life.
"Watcha thinkin so hard about?" Eddie asked.
"If I kiss you to shut you up, would it only encourage you to talk more?"
"Wanna find out?" Eddie teased, leaning his face closer to yours.
You rolled your eyes but moved forward, lips ghosting over his. Eddie's eyes widened, not expecting you to do so. But he quickly got over his surprise and closed the distance, kissing you softly. His hand on your hip and your hand in his hair. Focusing on the feel of you in each other's arms, breaths mingling, and lips pressed to each other. The storm faded away to background noise, slowly diminishing to a small pitter patter. No longer prominent to the two teens, cuddled together in the dimly lit bedroom.
