historia's farm house

"a panic attack?"

mikasa nodded, her eyes progressing back and forth between you and her cousin, her tone dropping to a hushed whisper."yeah. she kept mumbling stuff like, "it's him, please don't hurt me", we tried to calm her down, but she just kept screaming."

"i see."

levi skimmed in your direction, a crease settling between his brows, concern evident despite the blank expression he wore beside mikasa in the foyer.

"i think she was hallucinating..."

once your episode subsided, you were escorted into the living room, where your friends huddled close, waiting anxiously until levi arrived to take you home.

"i'm so sorry," you croaked, cupping your face."i don't know what came over me..."

ymir, who'd been crouched beside you, placed a comforting hand on your thigh."don't worry about it, sweetie. just go home and get some rest, yeah?"

you managed a weak, appreciative smile, but when the ackermans finished their conversation and approached, you shot to your feet.

"give me that." levi reached for your clutch."it's not a good idea to scream in the middle of the night, idiot. let's go."

a scoff, lighthearted on the surface, but the small, almost imperceptible smile tugging at your lips did little to lighten your mood. despite his efforts to downplay the situation, you felt terrible about what happened.

"i'm sorry..." you whispered, unable to meet his regard.

levi paused and with uncharacteristic gentleness, rested a hand atop your head. his thumb barely brushed against your hairline, a fleeting beat of comfort.

"no need to apologise..."

levi's apartment

the chaos at historia's place had left no room for anything, not even food. your belly let out a growl, a pitiful reminder of the meal you'd completely forgotten about. levi, however, had not.
