historia's farm house

with ymir's death, time on earth seemed to freeze in its tracks.

"are you okay?

"can we get you anything?"

"something to eat? some water?"

the heartbreaking news had reached historia in the early hours of the morning, crashing over her like a tidal wave. for days, she locked herself away in her bedroom, buried beneath thick blankets that did nothing to shield her from the cold emptiness inside.

"i appreciate you girls stopping by, but i think you should go."

"but, mr. reiss—"

"she's been through a lot. i think you should give her some alone time."

time.

what was time without ymir?

just a cruel, unrelenting force dragging her further away from the only person who had ever truly seen her. a gaping void now existed in historia's heart, one that nothing could ever fill.

she loved her. and now, she was gone.

__

the day of the funeral arrived too soon, as if the universe had no patience for grief. you, sasha and petra refused to leave historia's side, offering silent support where words failed. dressed in sombre black, the three of you stood in the doorway of her bedroom, watching as she ran her fingers over the fabric of a simple black dress.

"do you need help getting dressed?"

"no, thank you." her response was frail and instantaneous. but then, she continued,"do you think there'll be a lot of people at the funeral? i mean...ymir didn't have many friends."

you and petra exchanged nervous glances, unsure of how to respond.

"i'm not sure..."

"but everyone that cared about her will be there."
