The guardian duo went down onto the floating and wide platform. The first thing they felt after putting their feet on the floor was the immense pressure that the grotesque black mass that the Vex were praising, was emanating. It was like the presence of a powerful being... a monster... a demon... or maybe even a god.

They decided to slowly walk towards the very front, where the tens of Vex lied kneeling on the ground completely static. The more they advanced, the more tension could be felt in the air. Then, along the way, Leah accidentally tripped with one of the Vex and almost fell to the ground. Luckily, she didn't, but the truth is that she wasn't even worried about that... What she really feared is that the Vex she bumped into might've woken up.

The hunter girl turned around while sweating and stared at the Vex goblin still totally frozen in place. Turns out she barely caused its head to tilt to one side. "Thank the Traveller" Leah muttered with relief after taking a long sigh.

"Be more careful from now on" Cybel added, after which her guardian simply nodded in return

Meanwhile, Ravi had stepped to the very front, and was now staring directly and more closer than ever at the Black Garden's heart itself. "So this is the greatest source of darkness"

"Actually, it would be more accurate to call it one of the greatest sources of darkness" Wire replied. "The heart isn't the only threat there is, but... it is indisputably one of the worst in existence"

Ravi kept staring carefully at the heart for a very long time. Something from it was just catching the warlock boy's gaze... almost entrancing him. And so, in the end, Leah had to intervene and get him out of his thoughts. "Hey! Ravi! Are you there?" she claimed while waving her hand in front of the bluenette.

"Huh? Eh... Yeah..." Ravi replied after rubbing his eyes a bit. "Sorry, I kinda lost myself in thought for a moment"

"I noticed"

"Ok then, let's end this" he then claimed firmly, after which both of them decided to take some distance from the heart and attack at the same time.

However, as they were backing up, Leah noticed that the tilted head of the vex goblin she almost tripped with some time before... wasn't tilted anymore. "What the...?" the young girl muttered in disbelief. Then, out of nowhere, the eyes of the tens of vex turned on emanating their usual disturbing red glow. "Oh no! Ravi!"

"I know! Get to cover! Fast!" Both guardians and their ghosts immediately ran towards the back of the platform and took cover behind one of the many rocks and stones that lied all around. The Vex immediately began shooting all their fire power at the trainees. "How could it be?! They haven't move an inch in years... and now they suddenly wake up?!"

"Don't question it! Just focus on the fight!" Wire added, desperately.

The amount of Vex was increasing progressively as more and more of them just teleported right into the battle. What is more, Ravi and Leah wouldn't stay safe much longer behind their cover. So, they had no other choice but to scatter and fight back in any way they could.

"AHHH!" Leah yelled with defiance while throwing knives and lightning to the nearby Vex as she jumped from cover to cover.

On the meantime, Ravi too had his own trouble to deal with due to the lots of Vex focusing his fire at him. He was throwing fire whenever he could, however, the more enemies he took down, the more appeared out of seemingly nowhere. 'You gotta be kidding me!' the blue-haired boy thought after witnessing how more enemies just popped into the battlefield. 'We are doing nothing if we keep this up!'
