Chapter 43: Excursion

The heart of the Black Garden was finally no more, and the huge gathering of guardians that raided it was able to return home at last along with the 2 reckless guardian trainees responsible for all of it, and that were obviously in huge trouble at that moment.

However, this isn't about what happened to such pair of trainees anymore since that's already well-known. No. What matters right now... are the terrible consequences of ripping the garden's heart. Consequences which unfortunately, didn't take long to manifest themselves in the form of an alert signal which was sent straight from what little remained of the heart, all the way through the vex network.

At any rate, whoever or.... WHATEVER... it is that finally received such vex signal... would soon turn out to be one of the greatest challenges the guardians will ever have to face.

2 days after the friendly reunion at Leah's apartment...

Ravi and Leah packed their things and were now at the Tower''s hangar accompanied by their respective ghosts, and waiting for the trip organized by the Vanguard to finally begin. They weren't alone by any means though, because despite how early in the morning it was, the whole place was already filled with lots of first-year trainees from different classes AND levels... All wearing their special academy training suits.

That's right, as it turns out, guardian trainees in the academy weren't just divided in classes like any regular school for teenagers, but also in levels of experience and general knowledge which were both decided from the results of the entrance exam...

FIRST YEAR:

Advanced Level - Classes A, B and C

Medium Level - Classes A, B and C

Basic Level - Classes A, B and C

SECOND YEAR:

Advanced Level - Classes A, B and C

Medium Level - Classes A, B and C

Basic Level - Classes A, B and C

THIRD YEAR:

Advanced Level - Classes A, B and C

Medium Level - Classes A, B and C

Basic Level - Classes A, B and C

...

In any case, 3 different 3-day trips were planned by the Vanguard in the end, one for each of the 3 levels of first-year classes in existence.

Each level was going to take their own ship in order to reach its respective destination. First-year basic classes were all going to the Moon. First-year medium classes on the other hand, were going on a visit to the red planet: Mars. And finally, first-year advanced classes (the ones Ravi, Leah and their friends belonged to) were all going on a trip to the jungle planet itself: Venus.

There were around 270 to 280 trainees present in total. A ninth of whom belonged to Ravi's specific class: Advanced Class A. 2 other ninths belonged to Advanced Classes B and C. But despite of what class everyone belonged to, they were all doing the exact same thing at that moment: chatting and minding their own business while also waiting for someone to make an announcement.
