The Vex...
Cold and emotionless semi-organic alien robots who, not only retain a certain level of control over time and space itself, but also live only to fulfill one sole purpose: transform every single stellar body in existence... into a machine as part of their domain, including of course the entire Solar System.
But the Vex are a lot more complex than they seem at first sight. The vast Vex network that interconnects every single one of them possesses several parts and specific components which are key objects for the achievement of their main objective.
Spires... Interconnection nodes... Confluxes... Inner domains... Grids... and of course... Vex minds...
The Vex are without a doubt one of the worst threats humanity ever had to face, and the only reason they haven't yet taken away what little remains of Earth's legacy... are the traveller and the guardians who keep the Vex at edge, always preventing them from making a move...
At least until now...
...
"So that's basically what we are facing here right now" Xeno said as he finished explaining the other guardians everything about the Vex.
"You... You can't be serious" Kadiah replied with a scared expression. "An army from the past, present AND future? Space AND time?"
"Don't forget the 'Turning every single planet into a machine' thing" Tera added as Kadiah trembled in fear even more.
"It can't be"
Then, Caleb intervened. "If... If those monsters can really control time and space, what chances does humanity have against an entire army of them?"
"None. That's the only answer" Idus bluntly stated, shocking everyone around. "And the more we wait here, the worse it gets for everyone"
"Then, what do you propose?" Gamia asked, only to receive absolute silence in return.
"I... don't know" the awoken boy muttered as Ravi widened his eyes at such answer... The exact same answer he gave Leah some time ago back at the Black Garden. "To be honest, I've ran out of ideas completely. I thought we were gonna be able to find an exit from this place, but instead we just got into a far worse situation. So..."
...
...
...
"...I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO"
That was it. The blue-haired warlock couldn't take it anymore after hearing that. He stood up with his bangs covering his face and moved to one side while clenching his fists in fury, something that startled everyone present, specially the young huntress who looked at him with a worried expression.
"Ravi..." Leah muttered with a longing tone as the others faced downwards and remained in complete silence, knowing there was practically nothing they could do to prevent what was coming.
Some cold minutes after that, Idus too stood up and isolated himself from the others, taking a seat at one side of the small cave they were at, where the light of the campfire could barely reach.
Caleb and Gamia too went to their own side almost completely unmotivated. As well as Kadiah, who actually tried taking a seat next to the awoken boy and starting a conversation with him.
