Chapter 52: Now or Never

Ravi, Leah, Idus, Kadiah, Gamia and Caleb. All 6 guardian trainees had finally engaged the Vex in battle after having teamed up in a very spontaneous way. All 6 of them had their guardian suits on... All 6 of them were focused and more than ready to fight... And now, they were easily handling the entire group of robots as if they were tiny weak insects.

"Leah! Behind you!" yelled Kadiah as she witnessed a Vex minotaur sneaking behind the huntress.

This last one startled and then twirled her body to one side, dodging the minotaur's attack and also slashing him down with a lightning cut from one of her daggers.

After that, another group of Vex tried shooting Gamia down with their deadly laser guns, but Caleb didn't allow it. He jumped up high in the air and then crashed the ground with his feet, causing a powerful arc shockwave that took down the robots.

On the other side, Ravi was dealing with the enemy in his own way: fighting the Vex and taking them down one by one, until another minotaur sneaked behind him this time. "Crap!" the bluenette said as he swiftly turned around and tried to punch the minotaur with fire, though this time, his fist was suddenly caught midway by the monster's sturdy metallic hand.

"Ravi! Watch out!" Leah yelled as she witnessed the robot about to strike Ravi down, something that didn't happen in the end thanks to Idus, who had ripped apart the minotaur's head with an extremely precise gunshot.

"Thanks" Ravi claimed as the dead minotaur hit the floor.

"Don't mention it" Idus coldly replied.

And so, the entire fireteam kept on beating the Vex down. Nonetheless, it didn't take long for Ravi to understand that the actual opponent they needed to take down was the giant Vex creature from before which was still guardian the far circular gate at the back.

Therefore, the blue-haired boy began forming his own way towards the monster. He jumped on top of a nearby cubic stone and approached the Vex abomination by jumping from rock to rock. Then after that, he propelled himself with his fire and aimed to punch the monster directly in what seemed to be its weird-shaped face.

"Wait! Ravi! It's not that simple!" Leah yelled at that moment, though Ravi didn't listen at all and continued, only to be stopped in his tracks by the blueish barrier that blocked Leah's attack before.

The warlock startled at that moment for he wasn't expecting that. "What the hell?!" he then yelled in surprise. Following that, a powerful shockwave sent him flying all the way up. "GAGH!" Ravi added as he crashed against a wall.

"Ravi!"

"Everyone attack at the same time!" Gamia yelled firmly.

"No! Wait!" Idus replied instantly, though it was too late.

Leah, Kadiah, Gamia and Caleb dodged the Vex's attacks and rushed to attack the monster at the back. Nonetheless, their attacks were blocked too by the same barrier that sent Ravi flying away moments earlier.

"AAAGGH!!" Everyone groaned as they pulled back in pain.

However, it was at that exact moment that Idus finally understood what to do. Thanks to his teammates attacking the monster simultaneously, he was able to understand how its barrier actually worked. And so, as Ravi finally freed himself from the rubble and landed safely next to the gunslinger, this last one asked him to attack once again.

"You want me to try again?" Ravi asked in surprise.

"That's right" Idus bluntly replied. "I think I know how to get past its barrier, but first I need it to put it up somehow"
