Chapter 38: Rematch

The pair of guardians chosen as Ravi and Leah's teammates had finally engaged the fallen's giant spider tank. Turns out after having unexpectedly been separated from both the blue-haired boy and the young human girl, they immediately decided to jump outside of the building in order to face the heavily-armed machine before it could destroy the entire facility.

Cybel, Wire and the other 2 ghosts on the other hand, were watching from afar while hoping for Vuk and Bojan to be just strong enough to win the fight at all cost. "Vuk! Watch out!" Bojan yelled as he witnessed the spider tank pointing directly at his warlock partner.

"I got it!" Vuk replied as he moved out of the way at the last second. A huge explosion took place at the very back caused by the projectile itself, but the exo warlock was safe despite of that.

"Amazing! They move so well!" Wire claimed in amazement while hiding and taking cover along with the other ghosts.

"Not only do they move well" Mach replied. "Bojan and Vuk are also crazy powerful! Your guardians are lucky to have them as teammates!"

Cybel was still not convinced at those words, and not without reason. After all, neither Bojan or Vuk had even attempted to attack the tank yet. They were just dodging and running all around with apparently no plan at all. "Are you sure they can handle that machine?" the female ghost asked with concern. "I mean... It doesn't look as if they had an idea on how to do it"

"Just watch" Etu added with confidence. "They may seem kind of clueless at first, but you gotta believe me when I say nothing can beat their teamwork!"

At that exact moment, both Cybel and Wire startled in surprise after noticing those were the exact same words Leah excitedly claimed long ago about her own teamwork with Ravi. And what is more, both ghosts also started to theorize about the real reason why Bojan and Vuk were specifically chosen to be their young guardians' partners in this mission.

In any case, the 2 exo warlocks kept on running all around while clearly trying to confuse the spider tank with their synchronized moves. In addition, there were also a few other fallen forces wielding knives and scattered all around, which both Bojan and Vuk were easily taking down while still evading the tank's attacks.

"Bojan! It's time!" Vuk claimed as he abruptly stopped on his tracks

"Yeah! I know!" Bojan added as he did so as well.

Then, they both individually joined their hands together while letting out a bright purple aura all around them. And a few seconds later, they completely disappeared from sight just as they did before at the Tower's hangar.

That was the time. The spider tank didn't know where to shoot anymore given that there was practically no target at all. And as such, it desperately began shooting just everywhere around without success while receiving attack after attack from the guardians' side. These 2 were aiming specifically at the tank's 6 metallic legs, slowly breaking each one of them with powerful punches surrounded with void energy.

'It's almost done... We got you now!' Vuk claimed inside his mind.

'We'll finish you for real this time!' Bojan added in the same manner.

A few moments later, what they were actually plotting to achieve finally ended up happening: the spider tank fell on the ground with all 6 of its legs heavily damaged and almost completely destroyed. And in addition to that, the special inner core of the machine finally came into the open as well after what seemed to be some kind of chassis located at the very front of the tank detached itself from it.

"That is...!" Wire claimed out loud.

"Yes! It's the machine's core!" Etu firmly replied while staring at the weird orangish piece of glowing metal. "They have it now! If Bojan and Vuk destroy that, then they win!"
