Chapter 51: Combination

The terrifying vex creature that appeared in front of the giant metallic door was like none other Leah had ever seen before in her life. Not only did it lacked both arms and legs, it was also letting out lots of pressure produced by the immense power Cybel claimed it had. A power even bigger than the one of the gatelords back at the Black Garden... Greater than any other enemy Ravi and Leah had ever faced before.

In any case, the monster quickly scanned the entire area in search of whatever it is that was causing havoc in its apparently personal chamber. And then, the moment its sole glowing eye finally took notice of both Leah and Kadiah, it immediately let out an unbearable screech which echoed through the entire cavern.

Leah and Kadiah had to cover their ears, because the noise was simply to much for them to handle. And at the same time, the monster caused lots of other vex portals to suddenly appear out of thin air, from which lots of other vex goblins spawned once more.

"This has to be a joke" Kadiah muttered in shock. "There are even more than before!"

The creature stopped its screech some moments later. But after that, it finally disposed itself to attack. "Oh no! Kadiah, look out!" Leah yelled as the monster shot a powerful laser blast straight towards the warlock.

The attack was so fast that Kadiah barely managed to avoid it. She twirled her body in mid-air and swiftly landed on plain ground, only to be received by lots of Vex ready to shot her dead. "Kgh! C-crap!" Kadiah grunted while tensing up. Then, she put up her void barrier while being shot and slowly moved behind cover.

On the meantime, Leah kept on slashing down Vex after Vex while dodging countless attacks from both the goblins and the big metal monster which, by the way, wasn't really moving one inch from its place.

That's right, the creature just remained stuck in front of the door the whole time, making it very clear that whatever it is that lied past such door was simply too precious and important to leave unprotected. In fact, it was so important that, some moments later, it let out another unbearable screech and caused some sort of slightly translucent blueish barrier to appear in front of the giant gate, sealing it completely.

Leah startled after noticing this, because now there was no way to get out of there even if she and Kadiah were to reach the exit. "I guess... I have no choice now" the huntress said as she took cover behind a wall.

"Eh? Wh-what are you saying?" Cybel asked with concern.

"I mean we are gonna have to take down that monster"

Cybel frightened in concern at those words. "What?! Are you crazy?! Haven't your heard what I said before?! That thing is stronger than any enemy you've ever faced! You and Kadiah can't beat something like that alone!!!"

"Then what do you propose we do?! There isn't another exit nearby! And taking down that thing will most surely open up a path for us, right?!"

"W-well... Yeah, probably... But still..."

"Then there isn't anything else to discuss" Leah firmly claimed as she took out her daggers again. "You stay here, Cybel. I'll attack that monster with everything I got!"

Following that, the young girl finally stepped out of her hiding spot, only to rush towards the metal creature in front of her, ready to attack. The Vex surrounding it noticed this some instants later and immediately began shooting at Leah again as this last one swiftly moved from one place to another in return, leaving a trace of lightning and taking down almost every nearby Vex on the way.

Then, when Leah found herself at a decent distance from the metal monster, she made a very big jump into air, heading straight towards it. "Let's see how you handle this!!!" the huntress yelled furiously, only to then let out lots of electricity and sparks around her daggers, molding them into the form of an even bigger, larger and sharper weapon. It was the same powerful technique the human girl used back at the Black Garden and the Cosmodrome, and hopefully this time, it would end up being enough to end the fight in one go. "EEAAAHHH!!!"
