Chapter 40: Complete Success

"Vuk! Get out of the way!" Bojan claimed desperately as his partner was about to be blasted away by the giant Servitor.

Vuk immediately dodged the laser attack and kept on moving all around. However, both him and Bojan where exhausting themselves more with every second. They were strong guardians, and they had lots of experience in combat as well. But still, not even that seemed to be enough of an advantage to defeat the horrendous metal monster in front of them.

"You... You gotta be kidding me!" Vuk claimed as he regrouped with his partner. "You are... thinking the same as me, aren't you?"

"Yeah..." Bojan replied. "Commander Zavala definitely made a mistake here. He thought this strike mission would be an easy one to handle, but that's not the case at all! This freaking machine in front of us is crazy powerful!"

"Still, we can't give up. We must protect our young teammates at all cost"

Bojan clenched his fist, firmly. "I know. Let's get to it already!"

Both exo guardians jumped into action once again. Truth is there was still quite a long time before they completely managed to tire themselves out, and they also had slight hopes of being able to take down the fallen machine during that time. However, Ravi, Leah and the ghosts were actually plotting their very own plan at that moment while analyzing every piece of information that Etu was saying about the massive servitor.

"I see..." the blue-haired boy muttered while rubbing his chin. "So the material that giant sphere is made of is actually an alloy of many other metallic components?"

"That's right" Etu bluntly replied. "And such components come from many different planets around the Solar System. There are traits of both Mars's relic iron and helium filaments from the Moon after all"

Wire startled slightly at those words. "Relic iron, huh?"

"What's with relic iron?" Ravi asked his ghost.

"Oh, well... Relic iron is very well-known for its rareness, incredible heat resistance, and also because of its outstanding thermal insulating capabilities"

"Thermal insulating?" Leah asked while puzzled. "Wh-what does that mean?"

"It means it can prevent heat exchange between to different sides" Ravi bluntly replied. "That must be why my fire wasn't having any kind of effect over that machine"

"You were also probably not able to melt it due to relic iron's amazing heat resistance" Cybel added as Leah realized something else at that moment.

"Wait a minute... What about my lightning?" the girl asked. "Why wasn't it able to stun that machine's shell in the slightest?"

"Because that shell is covered with a non-conductive membrane" Mach added. "It grants that monster the ability to dissipate any electric energy that makes contact with it"

"You can't be serious... What are we gonna do then? Both mine and Ravi's powers are useless in this case"

"That's not true" Ravi replied with a serious expression. "There are actually a few ways in which we can defeat this thing"

"Huh? L-like what?"

"Well, for starters, we can destroy it by simply overpowering it. There has to be a limit to how much electricity or heat it can take before malfunctioning" The bluenette turned to look at the spherical robot who was attacking Bojan and vuk. "However, I don't think that's an option at all since neither of us have that kind of power"
