Chapter 61: A New Adventure

The Vex were defeated... the alien robot invasion stopped... and the Vault of Glass successfully raided. Commander Zavala and the rest of the other guardians moved over to the crumbled entrance of the vault while in search of the 6 trainees that were still missing. What is more, the communications were finally pback online too, though none of the people present knew it since they hadn't tried them again yet.

"Had any luck?" Zavala asked Cayde and Shaxx, who had just returned from searching for the 6 missing trainees.

"Not at all" Cayde bluntly replied. "We've been searching for lots of hours now, but there isn't any sign of them"

Zavala took a long sigh and clenched his fists in frustration. As the commander and main guide behind the whole first-year excursion to different planets, he couldn't avoid feeling that all of this was his fault. That the guardian trainees on Venus ended up hurt because of him and his poor choices. However, just as he was about to leave in search of the missing trainees again, Cayde's ghost received a transmission out of nowhere. It was a transmission coming directly from inside the Vault of Glass.

"Hey! Anybody there?" a male voice asked through the intercom. "Does anybody copy? I repeat... Does anybody copy?!"

Zavala and the rest of the guardians exalted in surprise for that was none other than the voice of Idus. "Yes! We copy! Idus, is that you?!" Cayde asked in concern.

"Yeah... I guess the comms are finally back"

"Guardian! Where are you?!" Zavala intervened while approaching the ghost.

"Are you with the other 5 guardians?! Give us your location!" Ikora added in the same manner.

"I don't think that will be necessary" Idus finally replied as the giant and metallic circular entrance to the Vault of Glass began opening right in front of everyone's eyes.

At first, the commanders and rest of the guardians startled in shock for they thought the Vex were about to attack again. However, they then widened their eyes after noticing who was really coming out out of the infamous vex-infestated cavern. It was a group of 6 guardian trainees and their respective ghosts... A group of 6 brave guardian trainees who were all tired, beaten up and that have also just saved humanity from a certain doom, even if only they knew about it.

"Ahh... Finally, fresh air" Leah said while helping Ravi walk.

"Yeah, no telling" Kadiah replied with a smile.

"See? I told you this was the exit... hehehe..." Ravi told Idus as this last one chuckled in return, after which they all slowly walked towards the crowd of guardians standing in front of them with bright smiles.

"Hey, look! It's them!" Liz claimed from in between the crowd. "Leah! Ravi! Kadiah! You are back!"

At that moment, the 6 guardians were welcomed back by all of his friends, who had actually been more than concerned that whole time. Some time later, Zavala, Ikora, Cayde and the others approached as well. And after going all the way back to what remained of the camp and treating their wounds, the 3 commanders finally asked what had really happened.

"What?! You reached the Vault of Glass?!" Ikora asked in disbelief.

"And you prevented a Vex invasion?!" Shaxx asked in the same manner.

"Long story short... yes..." Ravi replied. "But believe me when I say there's more to it than just that"

Leah intervened at that moment. "Wait... Now that I think about it, what happened there? I... I remember seeing you die... But then you appeared again a few seconds later"
