"Okay then... Let's get started" Ravi firmly said to both Kabr and Pahanin as he got ready for work.

That's right... It actually took quite a while, but after doing some extensive cleaning, getting the tools and preparing the old workshop of the facility, the 3-man team conformed by the old human men and the blue-haired boy was now ready to start working on the timestream vex machine.

Ravi had taken off his long coat and rolled up his shirt's sleeves, just as he normally used to do back at the Tower's hangar, in order to feel more refreshed and comfortable while working.

Kabr and Pahanin on the contrary, were watching from afar and lending a hand whenever they could without bothering the boy too much. What is more, they actually felt impressed at the fact of him being knowledgable about technology and electronics, specially for him being so young. However, the doubt of him being able to accomplish his goal or not was still present inside their minds, given the immense complexity of the vex technology they had available.

"Hey, kid... Are you sure you can make the machine work?" Kabr asked in slight concern. "Isn't this like... the first time you are working with this type of vex tech.

"It's the first time I'm working with vex tech at all" Ravi bluntly replied while studying the machine's blueprints.

"Wha...?! Are you serious?!" Pahanin asked in surprise.

"Yup! But don't worry. I've already accomplished many things that guys of my level would never be able to do, normally. I won't let this stop me now"

The old men exchanged looks and then took a long sigh, knowing they really didn't have any better idea than leaving all at the hands of the bluenette.

And so, just like that, a few hours passed...

...

...

...

Ravi kept on studying and studying the blueprints for a very... VERY long time without moving from that stacked room, except maybe to eat and go to the bathroom. Nevertheless, something was going on inside of him. Unlike previous times, in which he built and experimented with junk just to learn and for the fun of it, this time he had another reason to do it.

His friends...

The ghosts, Idus, Kadiah, Gamia, Caleb... Leah...

It wasn't really Ravi's fault by any means, but inside his mind, he actually left them all at the mercy of the Vex... and he couldn't take that. He wanted to finish the machine as soon as possible and go back. But as he certainly already knew, and was just to desperate to remember at that time, science wasn't something that could be rushed just like that. At least not if a good result was what he wanted to achieve.

"Ahh... Damn it" Ravi muttered tiredly as he took a seat on the floor.

"What's wrong?" Kabr asked.

"N-nothing... It's just that..." Ravi rubbed his head in sign of pain. "I... can't help but feel anxious and desperate right now"

Kabr and Pahanin startled slightly, though both of them already knew that reason for that.

"My friends... They are still in danger after all. By now, they may already be..."

"Mmh... I wouldn't let that bother me that much if I were you" Pahanin interrupted while approaching. "In the end, we all have a mark of time imprinted on us since the moment we crossed the vex timestream"

"A mark?"

"Yeah. That means that if we cross through it once again, the time machine should take us back to the exact same point in time in which we left... Well... Maybe a few seconds ahead, but still very close to it"
