It was over for now... Thanks to the vex monster that had just been destroyed due to the combined effort of all 6 guardian trainees, no more Vex enemies got in the way or spawned out of nowhere, giving the guardians the chance they needed to finally catch a breath.
In any case, they all gathered in front of the giant metallic circular gate with the vex monster's corpse still behind, and tried opening it without success for several minutes.
"Damn it! What the hell is this door even made of?!" Caleb childishly muttered as he struggled to open the door along with Gamia.
"Stop complaining and keep pulling!" this last one bluntly replied.
Meanwhile, Ravi was examining the vex corpse with Leah watching him closely from behind. "Hey! This isn't the time to be exploring, you know?" the huntress said with her hands in her hips.
"I know... Don't worry" Ravi replied. "I'm just checking some stuff here"
"But, what do you expect to find from a corpse anyway?"
"Think about it. This weird monster was the one guarding the gate, wasn't it? That must mean it had some sort of way to open it. Maybe a device inside it, or a special passcode saved in its memory"
"He could be right" Wire then said. "After all, we were able to enter the Black Garden thanks to a gatelord's head, remember?"
"Yeah, I guess you are right" Leah replied. "But you could also just be wasting ti..."
"AH HA!" Ravi suddenly claimed. "What do we have here?" There was something inside the monster... Something that Ravi was struggling to take out at first. "What the...?! It's stuck!"
"Eehh... I... I don't think you should be doing tha..."
At that exact moment, whatever it is that was stuck inside the monster, came out of from inside it in one go... almost as if it had a life of its own.
Ravi and Leah couldn't help but to startle and back up because of that, and the others too felt surprised and gathered around the strange device that was now levitating very up in the air.
"What is... that?" Kadiah asked.
"I don't know, but don't get close" Idus replied.
The device was like a weird prism of a stunning silver color with some black patterns all around it. It had a weird blueish aura surrounding it... AND... it also had a medium-sized circle in the middle, from which a yellow light was being displayed.
In any case, the prism kept on levitating for a while until it positioned itself at the very front of the gate. Then, from that same circle that it had at the middle, it shot a beam of light all the way to the very middle of such gate.
Everyone stared in surprise at that moment, for the seemingly impossible to open door was now slowly opening, revealing nothing more than another wide cavern-like passageway to take.
"Come on. It's time to go" Idus said as he began advancing towards the gate, followed by the others some moments later.
"Oh, I have a bad feeling about this" Leah then muttered in nervousness, only to then turn around and notice Ravi trying to take the prism-like device along with him. "Hey! Wait!"
