Aly's POV:

We stared at the dust piles circling our position when Lloyd came over to us. "Hey, Zane? There's sparks coming from the back of the Bounty. Do you mind checking them out?" Lloyd asked. Zane nodded, and made his way to the back, I followed just in case he needed help. Lloyd showed us the damage, and sure enough, there were sparks shooting from a pipe.

"I'll see what I can do." Zane sighed, starting to analyse the damage. "Aly, could you grab the tool kit from inside?" "Yup, sure." I replied, hoping back into the Bounty to grab the kit. I could see Jay was doing a lot better, since he and Nya started to clean up and run tests on the vehicle. I returned to Zane, and we started to fix the damage.

We worked for a few hours since the sun was now directly above us, casting more and more heat on us by the minute. "Wait." Zane spoke, pointing to a large gap underneath a broken panel. "There appears to be a piece missing." "Wait what?" I looked over to where he was pointing, and there was definitely something missing.

Zane thought for a minute. "The Thermolytic Kinetic Inverter, it is missing." "And we're not going anywhere without it?" I asked, and he nodded. "Correct." Zane replied, leaving us pondering what to do next.

I caught a glimpse of Lloyd coming out from the Bounty, so I let Zane finish with the assessment and soon joined the others. "That's the last of it." Lloyd huffed, dropping supposedly the last canteen of water. "That's not good. Less than a day's supply of water." Kai sighed with Cole fanning himself behind him.

"And the ATV and the Land Bounty are wrecked, and the rock-cycle isn't fast enough to outrun those beetles." Cole complained. "Well, even it could, it would only carry one of us." Kai glumly added. "Maybe Nya can draw some water out of the air?" Lloyd suggested, but we all knew it was far too hot for any water to be in the air.

"In this heat? Low humidity? I don't think so." Cole admitted. I had an idea, but I didn't know if it would work because of the heat.

"Lloyd, pass me a canteen." I shouted to him. He raised an eyebrow, but tossed me an empty canteen. I unscrewed the lid, and started to fill it up with ice. I was struggling to fill it though, as the heat seemingly became worse and worse, preventing me from fully using my powers.

It was about half way full when I had to stop. "That's all I can do for now. But I'll try filling the rest tonight when its cooler." I sighed, setting down the canteen, letting the ice inside melt. "Thank you, Aly." Kai said, putting the canteen with the others. "What would we do without you?" Cole sighed, a smile creeping onto his face.

Suddenly, a loud banging caught our attention. We drew our heads to the sound, to find jay bashing a rock with his Nunchucks.

"Jay, what are you doing?" Kai questioned him. "Carving a message on this rock. So people know who we are when they find our bones." Jay whimpered, finishing the word ninja on the rock. "Can we try to be a little more optimistic please?" Lloyd asked, clearly not enjoying Jay's antics.

"I'm afraid there is little cause for optimism." Zane sighed, emerging from the back of the Land Bounty. "Our situation is dire. The Bounty's engine will not start without the Thermolytic Kinetic Inverter." "The thermo-what?" Cole spoke, not understanding. "It's a part of the engine we need to move forward." I told him simply. "Ah, okay." Cole replied, ready to listen to Zane again.

"Well, what's wrong with it?" Kai asked. "It is missing. I believe when Beohernie ripped through the hull..." Zane started, but was interrupted by Jay. "Bernie!" "...he tore that component out, and swallowed it." Those words alone made us question if we would ever get out of this mess.

"Ugh. Well, that's just great! First, a giant beetle tries to eat us alive, then we smash into a pile of rocks..." Jay's complaining was soon drawn out by the chatter of the others. "Can't we use the ATV's inverter?" Lloyd suggested, but Zane shook his head. "It was also damaged."
