An overview of the events of the following 60 years:

Side Note:

Aly's corruption gets worse as the years go by.

And the more corrupt she becomes, the more pain she's in, and the more she's trapped inside her own mind.

3rd Person POV:

The years after the Emperor and Empress rose to power were devastating. But it gradually grew worse the more time passed.

Vex had consistently persisted his leaders to confront the Formlings, to get revenge for what they had done to him. The Ice Emperor didn't see why this needed to be done at the time, so the Empress went to pay the village a visit to see if they were truly awful.

The Empress went to the Formling village, and they seemed to like her. She was kind and gentle, so the village trusted her. The Formlings were aware of her husband, and they feared him. But they knew she wasn't awful like him.

The Empress would make frequent visits to the many villages in the Never-Realm, eventually meeting a young Formling girl called Akita. The small girl became quite fond of the Empress, and stuck by her side often, which displeased Vex since there was no action being taken against her people. So one day he insisted that the Formlings be destroyed, but this time he only spoke to the Emperor, manipulating him to think it was the best decision.

The Empress had fallen deeper into the corruption at this point to agree with this request, leading to the two of them creating Boreal; a giant dragon made purely from ice and snow. This dragon would aid them in taking over the Never-Realm, as per Vex's requests.

The rulers' followed Vex to the Formling village, bring Boreal with them. They found the Village full of people, and took the opportunity to strike them down, freezing them where they stood. The young Akita had been out that day for a ceremony, and returned to find her village in a terrifying state. She called for her brother, Kataru, but she couldn't find him.

The Emperor and Empress stood high on a hill, watching the devastating sight. Akita squinted at them, stumbling back once she realised who it was. She became scared, and she wondered why this gentle and kind ruler was attacking their village.

But then she saw the Emperor and Vex at her side, suddenly realising she was just a cruel as them. Coming to the conclusion that she only played nice to get close to the village to gain their trust, only to make it easier to destroy them.

Tears began to form in the girls eyes as she pulled out a pocket knife, ready to attach the rulers. But she was stopped by a loud roar from the sky. The Emperor and Empress quickly gained control of the dragon, and forced him to attack the young girl.

But luckily for her, her brother Kataru jumped out in front of her in his bear form, ready to protect his little sister. The girl pleaded for him to move, but he didn't. Kataru pounced at the dragon, tearing his wings before he could strike.

Boreal flew off to circle back around, dive-bombing for a final blow. Akita shouted for her brother to move once more, but he didn't budge, he only dug his paws into the snow, ready for the incoming attack.

Boreal charged down, and used his ice breath to attack the boy, presumably killing him. Akita barely dodged the attack. She looked up to find only a pile of snow where her brother stood, making her shocked and upset. Akita slumped into the snow, digging her hands into it as she screamed her Brother's name with tears streaming down her face.

Her moment was interrupted by the cry of the dragon, causing her to look back at the Enemy, and the one she once trusted. The three turned back to the castle with Boreal at their side, leaving the village frozen, and the young Akita alone as the last Formling.

On the way back home, Aly felt awful for what they had done, but she didn't have a choice. Zane's condition was getting worse and worse, making her suffer as a result. They kept walking when a yeti family crossed their path, making The Ice Emperor lose his temper.

The Emperor blasted the animals, ending all but one. The remaining yeti wanted to fight back, but didn't in fear of what happened to his family. The creature ran off into the mountains, leaving the Royals to return home.

Once they returned to the palace, Boreal revealed the very much alive Kataru in his claws, and he was sent to the dungeons until further notice. The Emperor and Empress returned to their throne, ready to attack again if need be.

Aly had spent enough time locked inside her head to understand what had happened. She deduced that Vex overheard the consequences if Zane's plug was pulled, and he did just that after taking her out.

After that, the scroll did the rest, making him fall into a pit of darkness while taking her with him.

Every day that passed, Aly hoped again that the others would save them.

But the days turned into weeks which turned into months and in turn years, making her lose hope again.

Enough time had passed that she realised, no one was coming.

But unknown to her, they weren't far away...

In short:

-Aly befriended the formlings and Akita, earning their trust. But that was destroyed after they attacked her village.

-Aly lost control of herself the more corrupt Zane became, making her lose her identity to the Ice Empress.

-This, in turn, caused her a lot of pain and suffering. The cold numbed it to an extent but it still wasn't enough.

-She's been mentally scared because of the corruption. Being stuck inside your own head, unable to control yourself and being in constant pain for 60 years can really do a number on a person.

-Regarding her age, being around ice for the past 60 years slowed it. So she's not an old woman don't' worry. Just think of Captain America being frozen for 70 years ab apply it to Aly.
