~Right Now - PartyNextDoor~
❤︎"Bitch I'm here! Come on get up. We are heading to a party!" Maya shouts walking into my room. I jump off my bed and head straight to my dresser. I'm not about to have a boring-ass Friday night in my dorm alone.
I pull out a super short red crop top, extremely ripped black jeans, my high satin red Jordan ones and some socks. "I'll be right back," I head straight to the washroom and turn on the shower. I quickly shower and change into my clothes. I brush out my hair and stick with a basic makeup look.
When I walk out I notice Maya in a short black dress. She looks up from her phone and smiles. "You look hot. Come on Luke is waiting for us," she gets off my bed and I open the door. We make our way out the doors where a black Mercedes is waiting out front.
"Sit in the front," Maya whispers before getting in the back. I'd assume since she is Luke's cousin she'd want to sit in the front but I guess not. "Hey Luke," I greet with a smile sitting in the passenger seat.
He smiles back "how do you like the new school?" He asks. I lean back in my seat as he drives thinking about how to answer it.
"It's... adequate. Just happy to be out of my parents' restraint," I answer honestly. My eyes peacefully study how the streetlights and traffic lights illuminate the dark night.
"Yeah I get what you mean. I moved out at 16 because I couldn't handle my parents controlling anymore," he says. I look to him studying his face as he focuses on the road ahead of him.
"How old are you now?"
"21 this year," he retorts. "Graduated high school at 17, graduated university last year and opened my cafe a little over half a year ago." I listen as he explains a short timeline of his life.
"That's amazing. You are already so successful at a young age. The future holds nothing but prosperity and triumph for you," I assure. He turns his head looking at me with a smile. I smile back before staring out the window.
I watch as he parks the car on the side of the road. A few houses down lights and the faint sound of music is sensed. "I don't think I met anyone whose vocabulary is so big," Luke unbuckles his seatbelt and gets out. Maya and I do the same and we all walk down the sidewalk together.
"Sorry, it's a habit. If you don't understand you can just ask me," I assure. Growing up my parents basically forced me to study the dictionary and big words. I had to use 30 new words in my vocabulary a day or else I would get a punishment.
Luke let's out a laugh. "It's fine. I mean the other day after handing you coffee I had to go search up umbrage. It's honestly interesting to hear you talk with such intelligence," he compliments. I look ahead of us realizing we have reached the party.
We walk through the doors and my senses immediately pick up the strong smell of alcohol and blaring music. "Thanks. Teachers usually find it annoying and my parents get mad when I talk back with a smart mouth," I explain. Luke lets out another laugh.
I notice from afar a group of boys calling Luke's name. "It's because you're smarter than them. Don't sweat it. I have to go ladies, see you later," Luke salutes Maya and winks at me before walking off.
Maya links arms with me and finally puts her phone away. She's been on it this whole time. "Alright, what do you think of him?" She asks. I furrow my eyebrows confused.
"He's sweet I guess. Why?" I question. She shrugs with a sly smile. I nudge her arm while we walk. "What?" She retracts her arm as soon as alcohol comes into view.
"I think he's got a crush on you. You guys would be so cute," she gushes, picking up a bottle of Jack. I head straight for the Bacardi.
We begin mixing our drinks. "Look Luke is nice and everything but I don't date," I make clear. Every time I've dated it's gone bad so now, I just don't.
