It was all but a silent moment.
Hushed breaths and exhales travelled from one ear to another. The air around her was oddly too quiet compared to the daily blares of voices. The nurse's voice was there one moment and gone the next. She could not hear or feel the familiar presence of the Elders or Mizu.
Her brows knit together in the effort to wake herself up from this longing sleep. It was a slumber she felt for an eternity, although it was just a while.
For a moment, she could not remember what had happened. She doesn't recall well the attack from walking around the forest, unguarded. She could not remember who found her or even the one who is responsible for causing her injury.
MinYoung grits her tongue lightly. She attempts to move her fingers, even a twitch was fine. She groans despite failing, but tries again. She forces her eyes to open, pulling her eye muscles upwards in the hopes of assessing her surroundings. Her legs abruptly jitters, as if falling from the sky.
Trickles of water seep around her body. The wind blows it away. Her legs and her body don't seem to be touching anything. A surge of water overlaps itself on top and around her torso, furling around her like a warm blanket. The storm blows it away.
Was she floating? Was she up in the sky? Is she still dreaming?
Eager to wake up from this ever-longing dream, she bites her tongue with so much force, she starts to whine.
A glimpse of her surroundings wasn't enough. She felt her cheeks touching the cold and uneven ground. Her fingers were twitching even more. MinYoung drags her arm up, with the minimum strength to roll her body around.
She did so in a moment's breath. Her heart starts accelerating, but she is still unable to open her eyes.
Silence overlaps the ambiance. Her body was warming up quite rapidly and she was shivering against the cold wind.
A caressing touch embraces her cheeks. It was a touch filled with warmth, a touch that MinYoung was gladly welcoming. It was a touch that was taking away her shivers and doubts. The first thought that came to mind was whether the person was her Mother or not.
MinYoung had never known about her biological Mother, let alone inquire the Elders about it. She had no clue who her Father was. She never got the time during their journey to find the origins of her history.
Had something happened to them? Did they have no choice but to pass on? Who were they and what were their lives like back then before this?
The lass falls back into a peaceful slumber and the warming touch vanishes like dust carried away by the wind.
An embryo-like skin cover itself around MinYoung's body. It slithers like a snake, furling around carefully in several layers, until the body is unrecognizable. A faint glow appears on the cocoon before dimming into a dull light.
The wooden door barges open, causing splinters flying around before it plummets hard and bounces off the floor. Standing by the doorway is a bloodthirsty prince, with murder intent and blazing in his eyes.
He wastes no time standing and saunters forward, but an unknown force stops him from taking the first step. He growls in response, rapidly looking around for the source of the user. A smirk appears on his face and he steps a few paces away from the doorway. The figure morphs with the rocky walls and his presence fades away.
The upcoming rushed footsteps gather by the opened archway. Confused as to why the wooden splinters were thrown around, Taehyung studies the interior from a far distance. He hasn't seen or felt anything suspicious aside from the wooden splinters. The interior was barely lit with the three torchlights.
