1 day later

Dakota was on a big balcony... on Freya's lap. She was on a garden chair facing the edge. He was not there by choice. She currently had her arms around his waist and a book in her hands.... and he definitely was not enjoying being in her arms... The book she was reading was in a language Dakota couldn't understand. The whole reason he was in this situation was because he asked her if he could see the forest. She said yes and led him here, she used her magic and a chair appeared, she sat down, and before Dakota could figure out what was happening she had pulled him into her lap... She pulled a book out of nowhere and started reading.

Currently, Dakota was lost in thought.

His mistake with his parents yesterday caused Freya to suspect they are trying to take him away from her.

After that, he tried to explain that wasn't the case, but she wouldn't listen. She just wouldn't see the point, it's like she didn't understand the concept of parents. Dakota had sighed in defeat and just decided that he would have to come up with his plan or keep trying to get Freya to understand. He kept feeling guilty every time he tried to think about an escape plan.

She still never explained exactly what a mate was. It was all very confusing but Dakota was keeping it together, as much as he could. Although Dakota was fed a sweet piece of cake that tasted like heaven, and it helped calm down his racing mind.

That day their conversation weirdly shifted to Freya asking questions about him.

He was reluctant to answer at first, but Dakota was a nice person, and he had a hard time saying no to anyone... so he answered anyway. He couldn't help himself, even though she was a supernatural creature that shouldn't exist. He had to admit talking to her was sorta nice when she wasn't so blunt about her feelings, and the fact that he was hers.

They talk about Dakota's life growing up.. he didn't have much to talk about because all he did was study. Apparently, she concluded that he was a genius, and he tried to tell her that wasn't it. All because he studied hard didn't mean he was some prodigy, he was average at best, but he soon learned that once she set her mind on something he couldn't do much to change her thoughts.

He told her about the two crushes incident and thankfully she didn't understand what a crush meant. He told her about sexuality and how he was attracted to males and females instead of just females. He told her he was seen as weird because of it, and he never really told anyone because of it. Freya was very confused about why it mattered, and it made him laugh.

It appeared that Dakota was beginning to feel comfortable near her, though he remained shy around her. He would sometimes lose track of where he was while talking to her. While he is usually reminded pretty quickly that Freya is a creature when she uses magic. He was just not used to it.

He kept having these random moments where their talks make him smile and laugh, and he had to keep reminding himself that he couldn't stay here. No matter what the weird god said, or how happy he was. Dakota still had a life. He couldn't just take that away from him... even though Dakota couldn't do anything to the god. He knew he would never result in violence because that wasn't him. He will need to keep trying to get Freya to understand, and if she doesn't.

He will just have to escape. Dakota needed to be sure his father's health had not worsened.

He has always been good at hiding his feelings. He needed to because of how sensitive he was. However, sometimes he would slip up. Like when his girlfriend broke up with him. His panic attack was so unexpected, and he could not believe he had one. He truly felt as if he was about to die. He had never experienced anything like that. He felt almost tingly after remembering it.
