In Dakota's life, he was ordinary. He also looked ordinary. He was a good employee, loved by his family, and had a girlfriend. After a terrible misunderstanding, his girlfriend suddenly breaks up with him, his job goes up in smoke, and now his fathe...

Dakota waited with bated breath to see what question Yoshito would ask first. They both seemed to believe Freya was the answer to everything. It wasn't the same for Dakota; she didn't know anything about mates, and there wasn't a book for her to learn about them— but it didn't matter anymore.
Yoshito offers a nod. "Is— is it true that you killed Alpha Shadow?"
Dakota immediately wonders who they are as Freya's eyes darken at the name.
"That is correct." She responds.
Dakota becomes confused as Sora and Yoshito relax more. Sora gave his spouse a loving grin and stroked his back. "And would you be able to know if he was alive?" He inquires.
"I did not let even his ashes remain. If a sliver of his being was left on earth— I would know." She scowled. "Why are you asking me this?"
Yoshito lets out a sigh, "Just to be sure. It would be a disaster if he were to somehow revive him."
"And who is this he?" Freya asks, raising an eyebrow.
Yoshito seemed to tense a little and Sora immediately took over for him, answering Freya's question. "Fang— Shadows descendent."
Freya's eyes were already pitch black, but they somehow seemed to darken even more.
"So the mutt bred. I am surprised the wolf goddess gave him a mate." She mocked softly.
Dakota was thoroughly confused, but he kept listening.
Sora had a sorrowful expression. "It— he did have a mate. He killed him." He paused before continuing, "He kidnapped a sub and made her a tool to continue his lineage."
Dakota's heart broke for the poor woman. This Shadow person, whatever he was, sounded like a horrible person.
"I'd expect nothing less from him," Freya said, shaking her head. Dakota was startled when her hair caught fire. Fortunately, Freya's fire seemed to expand only when she wished it to. He was only hoping his parents didn't come in just now.
"Are you implying that his offspring are wandering the world?"
Dakota could sense and see Freya's annoyance. He was amazed her rage wasn't smothering the entire room. Dakota instinctively wanted to soothe and reassure her, but the two werewolves made him feel self-conscious.
"Fortunately, each generation could only have one child. But it gets worse: he's in this city." Sora responds.
Dakota could see Freya was attempting to put away her fire. Dakota suddenly chides himself for allowing his stupid insecurities to get the best of him; Freya had helped him during his emotional struggle, and he should and wanted to reciprocate. He touched her hand with his outstretched hand. Because she was concentrated, the contact looked to catch her off guard, but she immediately gripped his hand. The flames that protruded from her were tiny, but they receded.
