The next day
After yesterday's conversation Dakota departed from the hospital and took a taxi to his old house, he slept there for the night and awoke to start his journey. Dakota sits in his childhood home, scrolling through forest trails on his computer. He is surrounded by the familiarity of the old home.
He really did miss this place and loved staying here once a month...
He searches for trails where he can camp. Every trail he finds either is too popular or does not allow camping.
He moans, "How hard is it to find a camping spot?"
When he was a student, he could easily find a place to camp. This time was different because.
"I want to be alone, I don't want to be around anyone," he sighs. "It's probably better to pick an open forest than find a commercial camping ground." He concludes.
Clicking on maps, he enters directions for an old camping spot he used to visit. "Maybe I can find a place near a familiar spot," He wonders.
He dragged the satellite map over the forest to see all the ranger stations and passed by a very huge open field, it stretched for 50 miles... "Huh? When was that there?" He inquired, he never saw this large field when he went camping here in college. He zooms in and sees nothing but grass. "I probably just never went to that part of the forest." He shrugs and keeps looking.
He searched for several minutes and accidentally goes back to where the field was, but this time there was a forest there? "What the?" He exclaims. He scrolls all the way out and sure enough, the field was gone. It was nowhere to be seen. "Where did it go?" he spends several seconds moving around the map looking for the giant field.
He rubs his eyes, "There's no way that giant field just turned into a forest." He says out loud. "It must be a glitch or something."
He goes back to the forest that glitched in and zooms out. "Woah, this forest is huge." He clicks it, copies the coordinates, then pastes them into the search engine. To his surprise, no photographs, no advertisements, nothing came up. All he got was an automated response.

"That's strange. A picture would have at least came up..." he figured. He goes back to the map. "It's not that far from my old camping place. Since nothing came up when I searched the forest.. that must mean it's empty. I'll just camp out here and follow my map to get back to the trail and take it home." He smiles.
He sets the laptop to the side. Getting up and stretching in preparation for the long part... packing, he grabs the notepad from the table and scribbles down the coordinates on the page.
He places it back down and starts packing.

In his old room, Dakota stuffs a huge water bottle, a fire starter, a first aid kit, a pocket knife, a map, and a compass into a large backpack.
He clips the water purification system, and some metal pots and mugs to the side of his backpack. His backpack had 3 layers to it, he had already packed the first layer with food. Dakota isn't picky when it comes to food so he only packed instant ramen, and some meat and fish. He also packs a metal stick to help cook the meat and fish.
