"Lucius, hijo!"
Just when I thought that Dad's immediately gonna scold me about running away yesterday, his hearty laugh was what greeted us.
My father looked so glad seeing Luci here with me, ni hindi niya na nga ako halos mapansin.
What's with Luci?
Well, it's not like I'm hoping that he'll ask me. It's just weird.
Luci glanced at my confused expression.
I just hope he doesn't scold me in front of Luci.
"I'm glad you're finally home anak. I'm hoping to talk to you after dinner to clear out our misunderstandings," he solemnly and formally said, tila bahagyang naco-conscious sa presensya ni Luci.
"Let's go inside then. Lucius, hijo, dito ka na mag-dinner." Dad laughed trying to cover the awkward tension between us earlier.
"I would like to, Sir. But I have a flight to catch in two hours." He bowed a bit at my father.
He has a flight to catch in two hours?! Nakakahiya! He has a flight but instead, he worried about me.
Pinanlakihan ko siya ng mata, giving him the 'Why-didn't-you-tell-me look'. But he just stifled a smile and looked at me with amusement. I rolled my eyes inward.
"Ah ganoon ba hijo? It must be urgent. Send my regards to Abdiel and Hestia."
"And thank you for taking my daughter home safely, hijo," dagdag pa ni Dad.
"It is my pleasure, Sir." He glanced at me gently.
Susunod lang po ako, I'll make sure to join dinner."
Dad looked at me weirdly, ang ekspresyon ay parang naeskandalo at may nasabi akong mali.
"Cara! You're just calling him wih his nickname? He's older than you! I'll make sure she'll address you respectfully and call you Kuya," baling ni Dad kay Luci.
Then Luci's chuckle made me even more flushed.
"It's okay, Sir. Besides, I'm not way older than her." He pursed his lips, ang boses ay may bakas pa ng pagtawa.
"Dad!
