Sudden Things
It's been three days since that confrontation with Theo and whenever we coincidentally see each other at the hallway, he just passes by without even sparing a glance at me, like we didn't even know each other.
And I understand. If that's his way to cope up, I would help him with it. Kasi alam ko namang maling-mali talaga 'yong ginawa ko.
"It's okay. Ganyan talaga, kaya sa susunod, mambasted ka pa para masanay ka na," si Andy na nakamasid lang sa akin habang nandito kami sa cafeteria.
I raised my brows at her. Galing talaga nito magbigay ng advice.
Si Kade na nakiupo rin sa table namin ay kaagad na pinanliitan ng mata si Andy.
"What? Tama naman 'di ba? Don't worry Cara, mga totoy lang ang hindi nakakatanggap ng rejection," Andy spat out harshly.
Kade scoffed at her at ilang sandali lang ay parang ito na ang kinakausap ni Andy.
"Kaya kung binasted mo at hindi maganda ang reaction, ibig sabihin lang niyan, immature pa. Paano na lang kung sinagot mo na talaga at may problema kayo? Ano?" She glared at Kade.
Napabuntong-hininga na lang ako.
"I'm okay, honestly. Pero hindi ko rin naman kasi maiwasang malungkot sa nangyari. It was overall my fault."
Kaagad na nagpapalatak si Andy dahil sa sinabi ko. She's been telling me that it wasn't my fault at all. Na kung manliligaw daw ang lalaki sa isang babae, he should not expect her to be obligated to return the feelings. Rejection is inevitable.
Well, she has a point but I'm also not going to deny that I had my fair share of mistake as well.
"How about we go out this weekend? For you to unwind? I know a new place," si Kade.
"Alam mo, sa dami ng sinabi mo kanina habang papunta tayo rito sa cafeteria, ngayon lang ako sang-ayon sa sinabi mo." Andy beamed at Kade.
It was a nice idea but I have to decline. Damn, susulitin ko na ang natitirang isang buwan sa pag-tu-tutor sa akin ni Luci.
"Uhmm sorry but I have something else to do during weekends."
"Palagi ka lang namang nasa kuwarto mo? If not reading books, eh nagpapakalulong sa boredom." Andy looked at me with doubt.
"You know that I mentioned to you once that I have a tutor for Calculus at tinuturuan niya ako tuwing weekends."
"You can just tell your tutor that you have something important to do for that day. Isang beses lang naman 'tsaka you have to relax sometimes."
Oh, trust me Andy. The teaching session is more relaxing than any outing. Well, it's relaxing and making me feel stressed at the same time and... I kind of like the feeling.
"Hmm... nakakahiya kay Luci kung hindi na naman ako pupunta gaya no'ng last week," I said mindlessly.
Andy gasped, covering her mouth with her right palm and immediately slapped Kade's shoulder.
"Ano ba Andy? You sadistic girl!" Kade furrowed his brows at her and distanced his chair away from her.
"Bakit hindi mo sinabi sa akin Cara? Na si Kuya Luci ang nagtuturo sa 'yo?" She then looked at me like I just betrayed her.
"Well, you didn't ask?" nagkibit-balikat ako.
Napasapo siya sa noo, tila ba problemadong-problemado at hindi niya tanggap ang dahilan ko.
"God! Tuwing ba tinuturuan ka ni Kuya Luci, nandoon si... Gael?" hininaan niya ang boses niya.
"God! Aren't you with Devin?" Kade mocked her tone.
