I really wanted to make it up to Marie for earlier. It wasn't that she was being rude, it's just she's young and is still maturing. Yes I'm still maturing as well but I don't act like the world revolves around me. The world just depends on us. Big difference.
"Penelope, have we ever been to Disney World? They have princesses there right? Or I remember reading about that."
"Hmm... If we did, it was a long time ago. We'll have to ask mom and dad the next time we see them."
"When will that be?" We rarely saw them anymore. They claimed it was safer that way... I mean to an extent I believed them but in other ways I think they just didn't want us anymore.
"Soon. I promise. Let's cut up these apples shall we?" She changed the topic and began to make the pie.
"Marie! Come here for a sec," I called.
She walked in and inhaled deeply, "mmm something smells good. Is it apple pie?"
"Yea we made it for you. I felt bad for earlier so I wanted to make it up to you."
"Thanks James," Marie hugged me and grabbed a fork. "Let's eat!"
"I'll get the plates," Brady offered and went into the kitchen.
We went ahead and cut the pie to let it cool. Brady walked back in looking slightly off.
"Brady, is everything alright?"
"Yea. I just need to ask Nel something."
This is code for something was wrong but I shrugged and helped Marie with her food so she could enjoy the peaceful moment while it lasts.
