"Brady what is it?" I asked as he took me into the other room.

"I thought I saw something in the woods," he looked through the curtains.

"Like...?"

"The Desmonda," he whispered and I felt a chill run down my spine.

"You can't be serious," I groaned.

The Desmonda are of the Devil, disgusting creatures that cause so much turmoil. We have never fought them before but we are preparing ourselves.

"I'm not for sure but it resembled one pretty well. The dark aura and all."

"We need to get James and Marie. Call Jeremiah and tell him to get over here."

Jeremiah is our mentor who was told to "watch" us. He makes sure we're kept in check so that we don't get in trouble.

"Okay I'm calling him." He left and I went to find James and Marie.

"Hey guys we need to go into the study and wait for Jeremiah. There's a possibility someone saw us."

"While we were getting apples?" James asked worriedly.

"I'm not sure but I need you to take Marie to the study while I wait for Jeremiah to show."

"But," began Maire, her bottom lip trembling.

"Go sweetie, it's okay." I beckoned them towards the hall and peered out the window to see if there really was a Desmonda.

Nothing moved outside but my senses tingled so I knew something was here.

The door shut so I figured my siblings were in our secret area. Brady stalked in and waited by the door to listen for anything.

"Maybe I imagined it," Brady whispered.

"Doubt it, your senses wouldn't be that off. Wait," I stopped and peered harder through the curtains. Something black was fifty feet away from the house.

I slid down to the floor and shivered.

"There's something outside."

Brady peered out the window and flew up to the ceiling, away from the curtains.

"Don't move," he told me as I heard something thump on the porch. My heart started racing and heard the door handle jiggle.

"No," I breathed trying to think of a quick escape route. What if there's more than one?

The door opened and I flew towards the figure but stopped short when I saw it was Jeremiah.

"Whoa Penelope, easy." He teased as if I were a horse.

"There's a..."

"Yes, I know. It ran when I came up. Are Marie and James in the study?"

"Yea."

"Good, get them out. We'll talk."

"Is it gone?" Marie asked twiddling her thumbs and looking at the floor.

"Yes it left when I showed up in my car."

"Jeremiah are we in danger?" Brady asked looking at me.

"Yes and so am I along with the others. They're trying to cause destruction in certain towns and its time for you to fight."

"F... Fight! Now?" Marie's wings unfurled and she started panicking.

"Marie it's okay," I said holding her tight.

"I'll go over the rest later. We need to leave."

"Where are we going?"

"Seeing your parents first and then to a different place to stay. You won't be able to stay in a house for long periods of time guys. That's just not possible, now go pack."

We all trudged upstairs and started gathering whatever we could find.

"James you can't take that," I overheard Brady say.

"But it's not easy to recreate this! At least let me,"

"We can't take much because we'll be moving around a lot."

I walked in and saw James cradling one of his "inventions'" It was some type of watch I think, that he had created recently.

"James pick three things to take with you. The rest will be put in the safe."

"Thanks Penelope," he brushed past Brady and went to find Marie.

"He doesn't really care for me too much," Brady said sullenly.

"He's just used to being the only guy in the house since our dad was always traveling. Don't worry, he'll come around."

A crash came from Marie's room followed by banging. I knew very well Marie was having a tantrum and would be fine once she recollected herself. More glass started shattering so I decided to intervene.

"Marie."

"Yes?" She looked up from her destruction with innocent eyes.

"What are you breaking?"

"These," she handed me some old rocks she used to collect.

"Don't you want to save some of this?"

"Nope I can get new ones!" she held a quartz and stuck it in her pocket.

"Alright, just make sure to pack something."
