The night had left us starving and restless. No one had really slept but we all had agreed to get out as soon as possible.
"Why couldn't we go with Jeremiah again?"
"Well, we have to get there first to scope out the place, and if we got caught he could still rescue us."
"Desmonda! Dive!" I yelled seeing a group fly straight towards us.
We all scattered as the billowy figures followed our every move. The way they flew seemed like they were transparent. New experiments perhaps?
I tried to drop kick one in the face and felt my whole body numb from the touch. My brain started to grow fuzzy.
"Don't touch them!" I cried but it was barely a whisper as I plummeted to the ground.
I'm not sure what broke my fall but the wind rushed out of my lungs as I struggled to get my bearings. The other three were trying to defeat them with sticks and rocks but nothing seemed to be working.
Was Jeremiah aware of these new models?
I sprung to my feet and grabbed one of our bags as I flew straight for one throwing my bag at it. The figure evaporated as well as the others. What was this, some kind of ruse?
Marie wiped some dirt off her face and managed a smile.
"What was that?"
"I don't know James. Is everyone okay?"
"Yea, are you?" Brady asked touching my arm.
"Mhm. We need to keep flying, maybe it means we're closer to the prison."
Turns out we were... The edifice was long and black. Totally screamed don't come close right? Too bad we had too...
Marie grabbed my hand tightly and tried to stay brave. I felt awful dragging my little brother and sister into this. Though it's not like we had ever had a choice, but if it were up to me I would've been the only one with this responsibility.
We inspected the premise and saw no cameras as we entered the building and walked down a hallway and into the main area.
Everyone gasped at what we saw next.
*Yay! I figured out at least the end of this chapter and will do another here soon. Now I kind of know where I'm going with this; not entirely but still working out the little details! Stay tuned for the next chapter :) **
