Sitting in my bed, I wished I could figure out what was going on. Usually I wouldn't be having this issue because it was always Brady and I.
Now I was with Cory, and Brady had left me for a Barbie doll. I mean Cory was great so far but I can't stay with him for forever.
Why didn't Brady want me? What was it that Marisol had that I didn't. Girls my age shouldn't be having crises like this.
I looked out my window and felt the sea breeze wafting into my room. I should go find Brady and resolve this I thought.
Figuring he wasn't in the house I left a small sweet note and flew into the night just letting the breeze fly me across the water.
How was I supposed to fix this? I was always about the group and everything else. When would I have time to worry about my love life? It seemed too selfish for me to worry about now.
Brady's wings brushed against mine and I jumped a little seeing as he crept up without me noticing.
"You got my message."
"Yea what's up?"
I flew for a few moments just listening to our wings flap in sync.
"Jeremiah was right about the whole human thing." What a great way to start the conversation Nel.
"I know, Nel there's something I have to tell you."
Here it was, the million dollar question. The thing that everyone, well mainly me, was waiting for.
"The truth is Penelope," Brady stopped and pushed the hair away from my eyes. This moment felt so right with him and seeing the moon reflect off his wings convinced me that I was in heaven.
"You're beautiful," he kissed me passionately making me lose my breath and pumping my wings harder to stay up right.
"I love you," he whispered and kissed me again as my heart started thudding in my chest. He loved me! Not that fake Marisol chick. He Loved ME!
"I love you too Brady," we continued to fly across the water, comforted by the other's presence.
Now that I thought about it, Brady must have always loved me. There was an explanation now for why he had been irritated with Cory and Joseph.
Cory, what was I supposed to do about Cory...
Right now I just wanted to enjoy the moment with Brady before heading back to the house. It was so serene I wished we could just live in this bubble forever.
We flew back in through my window and landed on my bed quietly. The only sound was our breathing and my heart going a hundred miles an hour.
Brady smiled his half smile/smirk and wrapped his arms around me.
"You really love me?"
"Yes Penelope," he kissed my forehead gently and played with my wings as I fell asleep content.
