I guess school is a good idea, but I didn't really see why we need it. It's not like I would be able to sustain any friendships while I'm here. There wouldn't be any reason for me to do sports, my wings would be too noticeable.

Maybe if there was an academy or something of the sort that facilitated for creatures like us. Then we wouldn't have to hide anymore.

"Remember the game plan guys," Jeremiah repeated as we pulled up to the school.

Oh yes, the game plan. Our "father" was a businessman who traveled frequently. We were adopted, and Brady is Penelope's boyfriend still who ran away I guess? The story was somewhat reliable so fingers crossed it would suffice.

"Good luck guys, I'll pick you up in a few hours!"

The four of us stood in front of the luminous building. None of us really knew what we wanted to do next.

"Penelope?"

"Right," she said snapping out of some thought and led us inside.

"You have your schedules?" Brady asked Marie and I.

"Yep, we'll see you at lunch I guess."

"Sounds good. If you guys feel endangered at any point, text one of us or Jeremiah."

"Okay," Marie answered nervously.

"You'll do fine sweetie," Penelope told her.

I led Marie to her room and left to find my class. History was first on my list, which I didn't mind too much.

Walking in, most of the students were seated but some were still chatting. I went to the teacher's desk and handed him my schedule.

"James Muse eh? Nice to meet you. Take a seat wherever. Hope you like the Civil War because that's the unit we will be discussing today."

"Yes sir, thank you." I walked over to an empty desk in the middle and set my backpack down on my desk.

Two guys approached me and introduced themselves as Mark and Mark. They were obviously best friends who has the same name ironically.

I smiled and introduced myself politely as we struck up a conversation for a few minutes. Maybe this day wouldn't turn out to be so bad after all.
