After we had dropped off all the kids, Jeremiah had taken us back to the house we were going to stay at for a little while. Marie, Penelope and I were all sharing a room while the guys got separate ones. No one really cared, I think we were just glad to be under a roof for once that wasn't trying to take our blood and DNA every five minutes.
Marie was brushing out my hair and practicing some new braid of hers while I looked through a magazine of jackets and boots. I had always wanted a pair of boots... maybe Jeremiah would help me get some since the others were well off it seemed from what their parents give them.
"All done!" she exclaimed and handed me a mirror to let me look at the strands of hair that seemed to be going in different directions but all somehow formed an interesting looking braid.
"Looks cool Marie, thank you." I replied and went back to flipping through the magazine. I could feel my body getting ready to go into sleep mode was what I liked to call it, but it was only a little after ten. Yes that was late I guess but to everyone else it wasn't.
"Hey Nel do you think we could get a dog?" Marie's voice piped up as she started braiding her own hair.
"Unless Jeremiah wants to take care of it," she offered and went back to looking at some book she was reading. I think it was A Tale of Two Cities?
"It would be fun though... I think I'd name it... bulls-eye."
"Why that?" I asked raising an eyebrow at the peculiar name.
"I don't know, it just sounds cool to say." She admitted and got up to go tell James about the dog's name she had decided on.
"Hey Penelope?" I asked setting my magazine down and examining my nails.
"Yea, what's up?"
"Do you think Cedric and I could meet your parents? Since you know... we don't have any?"
She rubbed my back gently, "of course! They would love to meet you. Even Brady's mom would and she might take you guys in, or maybe ours would."
"Really?" I asked my eyes lighting up.
"Mhm, I know they would."
Maybe I would get to have parents after all, I thought and crawled into my bed with relief. I wouldn't be alone in this world anymore and have to wonder if anyone ever cared... as long as I had these guys, I think I would be just fine.
**I know it's short! Sorry :p will post another chapter soon!**
