Tonight was the party and I was contemplating on going. Marisol was invited, though the rumor was she wasn't in good graces with Cory or any of his friends. Which made me wonder how she was able to go...
Inside I knew I needed to go to make sure Penelope stayed safe. The only issue was I hadn't been invited. My only sure way in was through Marisol... Boy would Nel get pissed. She and I had... well kinda patched things up but she was still hanging out with Cory.
"Hey Brady what do you think?" Penelope said standing in a light purple cuffed shirt with skinny jeans and wedges.
"You look stunning," I answered breathlessly.
She blushed and braided her hair back while making sure her wings were tucked in. I honestly didn't want her to go, she would be the center of attention and since we weren't exactly together.. I was having a hard time trying to digest that some guy would put his hands on her.
"Is Cory taking you to the party?" I asked not even bothering to hide my jealously.
"No, Joseph is," she replied brightly and left to go find Jeremiah. How could he be okay with her going to this? How was she okay with this! I loved her... Penelope was the only girl I had dreamed of being with and I was losing her. Jealousy wouldn't win her back, what would.
"Nel," I called walking into her room to see her turn with the necklace her mom had given her in her hands.
"Can you put this on me?" she lifted her hair aside and waited patiently as I clasped it on.
"Were you going to ask me something?"
Yes but how could I? She wouldn't understand.
"I hope you have a good time tonight."
"Thank you," she kissed my cheek and flitted down the stairs as the doorbell sounded.
I pulled out my phone and texted Marisol asking if I could accompany her to the party.
Her response came back quickly saying yes and that she could pick me up in about twenty minutes.
Now the only question was what do I wear? Maybe jeans and a button down shirt?
I threw my t-shrit on my desk and examined myself in the mirror. How could she not want me? I had everything she had ever wanted.. Yea it sounded cocky but she was making me question what I had done wrong.
Marie walked in and started blushing, "I... sorry Brady."
"Oh, it's cool Marie," I picked a random shirt and threw it on so I couldn't embarrass her more.
"Did you need something?"
"Yea, I was wondering if you could watch over my sister tonight... she's worrying me and James."
"Don't worry Marie, I plan on making sure she stays safe. How do I look?"
She blushed, "like you're ready to party."
"Good," I rushed downstairs and opened the door as Marisol raised her hand to knock.
"Ready?" she asked while checking me out.
"You bet, and you look great by the way," I complimented.
Which was a complete understatement. Her jean shorts were... well it made her butt look amazing. Then her crop top.. dang. I was trying to find a single flaw on her but I couldn't.
"Thanks," she hugged me and I had to hold back on just wanting to hold her tighter. No wonder Nel thought I was crazy about Marisol. She was hot.
