"Everyone thinks I'm a princess," I whined to my brother, James, who was wiring some computer.
"Well maybe it's because you act like one."
"Not true! I don't act like one, how would I know what one acts like? I've never seen a real Princess!"
My sister, Penelope, entered and tried to soothe me. I was too worked up this time to care.
"What's wrong Marie?"
"Nothing, just let me go."
She backed up knowing my potential and watched me walk into the living room. I stared at a mirror that had been left behind. Usually I didn't look at my reflection, it wasn't that pretty anyways. My pale blond hair with pale skin made me albino looking. I had grey eyes which didn't match my siblings. Penelope had purple eyes literally and James had indigo. Brady's were hazel but gold which was cool to look at.
Tucking my shirt back in, I felt my wings, yes I have wings, fold back in. Maybe I should explain what I am, or what we are real quick. We're angels. We have wings but no halos. No we are not condemned. The four of us were created. Or as they like to call it "genetically enhanced." Anyways back to the story...
"Hey Marie," Brady approached with his jacket on. He and Penelope are together. They're both nineteen. James is seventeen and I'm fourteen.
"Hi Brady, Penelope is in the other room." I said shyly. I was nervous around him since he was the only boy I ever talked to besides my brother.
"Thanks Marie, are you alright?"
"Yea, I'm okay."
He eyed me questioning my response. "Alright. See you later then," and went to go find my sister.
My reflection in the mirror seemed even more remorseful now that I had declined telling him.
"Suck it up girl, everything is fine," I lied to myself. "Everything is fine."
