Going home was a real treat. After the fiasco, I had to go back in with Marisol and try to ignore the stares I was getting. Cory had left already but that was the least of my worries.
When I walked into the house I knew the group would be pissed that I ratted Penelope out. But in all honesty I didn't care it had been for her own good.
Marie and James avoided me for the rest of the evening. Jeremiah told me we would be looking for Desmonda to destroy soon. Everything just seemed like a blur. I wanted to fix things between Nel and I but that would have to wait.
I called Marisol and asked if I could meet her somewhere. Marisol said she would meet me in my backyard so I waited patiently.
"Brady?"
I turned to see her a few feet away.
Beckoning, I let her sit next to me and tried to get my thoughts together.
"Marisol you're a great girl and all but,"
She put her finger to my lip. "Does she know you love her?"
That threw me for a second. "Is it obvious?"
"Girl's intuition, but it's mainly the way you look at her."
Huh.. I needed to find a way to be more discreet about my feelings from now on then.
"She'll come around," Marisol winked and kissed my cheek before getting up to leave.
She paused, "What's it like to fly?"
I opened my fourteen feet of silvery wings and shook them out. "Wanna find out?"
