When everyone was done with their introduction, Jimin instructed all of them to leave the room and follow him.
They took the stairs and went down to 6th floor. "All of the writings made by MC Enterprises are done by us. Even the CEO's speech." He said while they walk on the granite floor. "Your access key cards will only work on the ground floor, 6th and 7th floor."
He opened a door and revealed a room full of supplies. "Obviously, this is the supply room. You have to request supplies before you can go here. Most common requests are markers, papers and computer ink. Once your request has been approved. You have to call 322 on your desk phone so that the people in Supplies and Facilities give you your request. Be wary, though. Jung Kook is very keen on how we use company's resources."
Hearing his name made Minji's heart flutter. She hasn't seen him around yet. Next, he pointed towards the IT room. "We are not allowed to go in there for security purposes but the guys behind this door are responsible in checking your desktop's hardware and software."
They walked inside the next door. "This is the writer's lounge." The room is somewhat divided into two like Yin and Yang. The right one is vibrantly painted in yellow and the floors are filled with bean bags while the other half is dull looking. The area is surrounded by bookshelves and there are cofee tables instead of bean bags. "All of our writers are working remotely and they just have to be here when they are summoned. However, there are few occassions wherein they finish their tasks here. So they choose where they want to sit according to their mood. You guys can use this space. This is open for everyone. I'll give you 2 mins. to look around."
"Is this how field trips feel like?" She asked herself because she never experienced those. The girls went to bright area to take selfies while the boys played on the bean bags. "They really are still kids."
Minji went to the grey area to look at the books. They have good selection from classics, young adult and even self-help. "It's too early to tell but I think I found my favorite room."
There are pictures displayed on the wall. She looked through them in case she will meet one. There was a picture of Jung Kook receiving an award as the "Most Outstanding Senior Manager". He was dressed in white Tuxedo holding a trophy. His doe eyes are smiling. How she wished that Jung Kook will look at her like that when he gets to see the real her...in case.
"Didn't you wish you say no?" It was Jimin behind her back who caught her admiring Jung Kook. She was caught off-guard.
"Uhh. was just curious about him. He interviewed me." She looked at the ground again.
Jimin chuckled. "I was just teasing you. Let's go."
They all followed Jimin outside the room. The next 30 minutes was spent with Jimin showing the rooms on 6th and 7th floor and the do's and dont's. They entered a large room with frosted glass walls and asked them to look for their names among the computer stations.
"Where your name is located will be your computer. You can design it any way you want." Jimin instructed while they search for their names. Minji found hers in no time. There was nothing on the table except for the Dell computer. While others are going through how to make their workstation aesthetic, she sighed knowing she had nothing. All of her pictures with her mom were left home. The left side of their area is a full view glass window which shows how beautiful the city is outside. On her right were set of rooms which she believe are for managers. The rooms don't have doors. Her eyes are wandering around to see how many rooms are there but she quickly gazed to the carpeted floor when he saw Jung Kook inside the room adjacent to her station. She sat on the swivel chair and turned her back so that he will avoid seeing her.
"Hi, sir!" Jimin greeted. "These are our new editors. I was just showing them their work station."
"Everyone! This is our senior manager and editor-in-chief, Jeon Jung Kook" Jimin introduced him.
They all stood and bowed their heads. Jung Kook looked around and stared at Minji longer. "Pleasure to be working with you soon."
"It's now 9:15 AM in my watch. You can take your first break. Be back by 9:30 AM and go to the Training Room. Jennifer's Team will be there too."
Jung Kook handed him a file and Jimin opened it. "If you want to smoke, you can join us at the roof top."
"I didn't know you were a smoker. That's something new." Minji thought to herself. They all went out of the area and Jimin pressed the elevator going up. Minji, however decided to take the stairs back to 6th floor. There are two elevators, but it's gonna take a while and 6th floor is just nearby.
"Unnie, come with us." one of the girls said when she noticed her walking away.
"I don't smoke." Minji whispered.
"Neither do I. But we just want to see what's on the roof top."
"No, thank you." Minji politely declined. Before she can take another step, the girl grabbed her arms and walk inside the elevator.
The elevator is packed with ten people inside and she was pushed to the back when her colleagues started getting in. On her right is Jung Kook closer to her. She can smell his cotton perfume. They are inches apart but can still feel him and wanted to get closer and lay her head on his arms. Minji looked at the elevator as it slowly reached the top. She wished it would stop going up. She looked at Jung Kook and saw a tiny scar at his cheek. It was the first time she looked at him that close. There are many things about the scar which she wanted to ask, but she guessed they will never be answered.
The elevator stopped at the 10th floor and another employee went it. She was pushed farther. Her back can feel the aluminum elevator. She tugged her dress and felt Jung Kook's fingers caressing on hers. She was blushing. His pinkie was making small circles around hers sending tiny bolts all over her.
"You okay, unnie? You are turning red"
Minji just nodded then bit her lower lip. Jung Kook smirked as he continued to stroke his pinkie on her.
The writer's lounge isn't her favorite place anymore.
