Minji was looking outside as they drive slowly to Alejandro's villa while Jung Kook was sitting a car seat apart from her. He didn't want to bring her but he doesn't want to leave her alone in the house as well. He would like to initiate a conversation, ask her about her day but it is as if his lips were sealed. Their interactions have been limited; morning stroll, breakfast, him slowly re-arranging his business while she cleans, therapy sessions, watching TV sitting on both ends of the couch, dinner then bed. Her head has been low all the time, avoiding any means of eye contact and he's doing the same. But night times are different, as they lay side-by-side without even touching, he can feel her. He looks forward going to bed with her every night. She made his nightmares disappear. He woke up in the middle of the night yesterday and stared at her. She looks exhausted and he felt guilty that she has to take care of him. This is not the life that he imagined for both of them. He caressed her face and brushed her dried lips.
"I miss you." He uttered to himself but he cannot fathom as to why he cannot show his emotions to her.
The car entered a gate about 7-feet high and a two-storey villa which seems to be 1,500 feet wide towered above them. Jung Kook grew more jealous--thinking that this is the life that Minji deserves.
Tyler ran after Minji the moment she stepped out of the car.
"Mama Minji! Mama Minji!" Tyler cried and hugged Minji's legs. Minji patted the boy's back and kissed him before the boy walked alongside her, holding her hands. Jung Kook's teeth gritted hearing Alejandro's son talk like that. Why is he calling her mama?
He wants to hold her hand, lock it with his, but he has been a coward lately.
"Mr. Collins is waiting in his office." One of the maids told them.
"Thank you, Jane." She responded. And they followed her as she leads the way.
"How did she know the maid's name? Has she been here before?" Jung Kook wanted to ask her.
"Mama Minji...watch me swim, please?" Tyler pleaded and she just laughed.
"Of course. Your daddy and I just need to talk. You remember, Jung Kook?" She asked, Tyler scoffed.
"Daddy said you can't be my mom because you and Jungle book are in the same house." He looked at Jung Kook. "If Daddy buys him a new house can you be my mom?"
"Tell your Daddy to find you another mommy." Tyler kicked his foot.
"Mama Minji cried in the hospital because of you!" Tyler kicked his foot the second time and Jung Kook just smirked, happy to win an argument with a child. Minji then carried him.
"He was sick, Tyler. He slept for days in the hospital." She was running her fingers in his hair. He rolled his eyes, affected at how Minji cares for another man's son.
Tyler bulged his eyes at Jung Kook, throwing a six year old threatening look, while his little head is rested on Minji's shoulder. Jung Kook poked his tongue out, teasing which made Tyler frustrated. Jung Kook was laughing in the inside. He ceased with his sillyness when they stopped at Alejandro's office.
Minji brought the child down and kneeled before him. "I'll see you later, okay?" She kissed the child's head. Tyler hugged Minji back and whispered into her ears while looking at Jung Kook. Minji chuckled.
"Mama Minji hugged my dad when you were in the hospital!" Jung Kook was about to grab Tyler but he quickly ran away. His brows were knitted again, imagining what the boy said.
Minji stood and knocked on the cedar door.
"What did that boy tell you?"He whined.
Minji smiled a little, melting Jung Kook's heart. She cleared her throat. "He said you look like an angry bunny."
