Minji knew that her fake life is a hardwork but she didn't realize that making her fake life seems real is even a harder work.
There are many things that she needs to accomplish. First, she needs new set of clothes for her job starting Monday. She braved herself to ask Atty. Choi for money. She lied that her wardrobe because she lost weight.
"Take George with you if you are going shopping. I have given him cash." He instructed her over the phone.
She just mumbled. She would prefer Tia Isabelle because she is shy to ask George if the clothes that she will be choosing suits her. They were walking around Myeong-dong for their shopping spree. George was walking beside her carrying two paper bags with shoes.
"Sorry if you have to babysit me." She said while sipping from her Strawberry juice that she bought from one of the food stalls on the street.
"No biggie. Never had the chance to do this to my own daughter anyway." He replied. That was the first time that he opened about his life.
"What happened to her?" She asked. "If you don't mid me..you know...asking."
George inhaled. "Ditched school. Ran away from home to fulfill her dreams of being a Kpop idol. Two years after, never heard if she even debuted."
"You didn't look for her?" She asked. "I mean like contact her?"
"Tried, but she changed her number. Went after entertainment companies to check if she even made it, but still couldn't find her. My wife now is at the psychiatric center due to severe depression."
She held his hand and stopped walking. "Uhh--I'm sorry George." He tapped her back so they can continue walking. "That's okay. It was painful at first, but eventually you get used to it."
"You get used to it." Those words kept repeating on her mind while they were walking. After sometime, they stopped at a pink colored store because the gingham skirts on display caught her attention. She was rummaging through the rack and chose a knee-length black pencil cut and a ruffled one with ribbons. George just observed at the corner.
"You should also get that one." He pointed at the nude colored coat. "It's getting colder these days."
"Your boyfriend's right. We also have that in white." Said the middle aged woman who seem to own the store. She blushed and looked at George.
Minji picked up the coats and the skirts. She tried them on and they fit perfectly. When she went outside, George picked out some dresses and blouses.
"Try these on too. I bet they'll looked good on you."
Minji's heart started pounding. George is quite a looker and young for his age. His arms are noticeable because they are muscular. George paying attention to her is a brand new feeling.
She tried on the clothes and liked them all. She went out carrying them and proceeded to the counter. George handed cash.
The woman looked pleased. "Your boyfriend has a good taste."
Minji laughed. "He isn't my boyfriend. He is my dad." She looked at him and a smile formed on George's lips.

Minji and George were eating chicken and lamb skewers in a small fastfood chain. She is now definitely comfortable around him. She only wish that she can tell him more.
"Kid, why do you need all these clothes?" He asked after finishing his first lamb skewer.
"Uhhmm.. I lost weight. My old clothes are slipping." She laughed.
