Electra was walking towards Slughorn's office. The most awaited Slug party had started and she for once more was invited not for her talent in potions, because despite her A in OWLs last year she had stopped taking lessons with him. But she was the best Quidditch player along with James and even though she wouldn't be allowed to play to the next match her reputation of being the best never left her. Slughorn as usual amazed by her skill during the games he had saved a seat for her.

For the first time she would not be accompanied by her friends. James was on detention, Peter was not invited, Remus had decided to do James' assignment on Muggle studies and Sirius, who was invited, would not come because he had caught a cold and even if he hadn't probably he wouldn't speak to her. Lily had gone earlier so she was heading there alone with her hair falling onto her back.

She was late. Again. At least Slughorn would never judge her, quite the opposite, he knew that everyone who was on Quidditch team would face some difficulties finding time to be in his parties so he was grateful she was still managing coming. She raised her hand to knock on the door only to find it open and enter without knocking.

"Sorry I'm late profes-" she started but then her eyes fell onto the person with who Slughorn was talking. Sirius was standing next to Diane and talking with the man. "Why did I not bring my wand?" She said and formed a smile as she was always doing when something was pissing her off at the sight of the three people thinking of all the great tricks she could cast.

"How are you Ms Star? I was just telling Mr. Black that it's the first time he's not coming last." The girl shook her head faking a smile. Under other circumstances she would definitely enjoy the joke but this was not the case.

"Oh I'm pretty well! In contrast to other people..." She said giving a death stare at Diane who understood what was she talking about. Then she moved up to sit next to a boy from Slytherin who was at the same year as her and most of the times they were playing against each other in Quidditch. Lily was sitting away from her and giving her a begging look not to be mad. The boy next to her as soon as she sat next to him smiled and tried to start small talk but even though she tried to reply and ask back the conversation didn't last for long.

And right when she had started to believe that things could not go worse Diane went and sat opposite her with Sirius by her side. Maybe it was the jealousy speaking but maybe it was the fact that this girl had not even cared about his health and that he was so stupid to follow her.

"Electra, are you trying new looks?" A voice suddenly brought her back in reality. She raised her glance to she her professor pointing at her hair.

"No, I've done it blue various times! Haven't you noticed professor?" She asked questioning his words but half enjoying it since she could have her mind to something else. Silent laughs filled the room but not for what she had just said. "What?" She said raising her eyebrow and taking a serious expression making most of people in the room stop laughing.

"But my dear, your hair are blonde!" Slughorn said and Diane laughed at the girl's reaction.

Lily searched for Electra but she wasn't looking at her and then exchanged a glance with Sirius. They both knew that this wasn't going to turn up well.

Electra took a breath not wanting to lose control and raised a spoon so she could see her reflection. She closed her eyes trying to concentrate and then her hair turned to turquoise but only for some seconds because the blonde colour returned. "I don't know why is this happening..." she said but tried to seem happy. The last time this had happened she had managed to make them turn normal but now that was impossible.
