"I think Mr's Black talent in potions should not be wasted."

Sirius, James and Electra exited their common room and started running down the stairs as fast as they could. For the third day in a row they had woken up pretty late. Luckily for them the first day was more like a get-to-know-the-castle than a day of classes and the second one they were smart enough to be waken up by their biological clock and be on class just two minutes late coming up with the excuse that they got messed up with the moving stairs. But this time? Nothing could save them. They were ten minutes late. And they were starting the day with potions. They didn't know who the professor was but they really hoped that he wasn't as strict as McGonagall.

They stopped to find their breath only after they had reached the dungeons where they potion class was. El after exchanging a glance with the other two knocked the door.

"Come in!"

As soon as they entered like a choir they tried to apologize but they were cut off by Horace Slughorn, their potion professor. "Don't worry children, your friends here Remus and Lily were just explaining to me that you lost time in the library trying to find information about your assignment on transfiguration class. Come in come in and please pair up."

All of them flashed a smile to Remus and Lily and entered the classroom. "Thanks a lot man, we owe you one!" Sirius said tapping Remus on the shoulder and James was about to go thank Lily but he was stopped by the same boy with dirty hair who was with her the day of their arrival.

And then there was the difficult part. Pairing up. Lily went with this boy named Severus, James with Remus trying to be as close to Lily as he could and El with Sirius. The last ones exchanged a glance "I hope you're good at this" they both said to eachother at the same time. And after realising how this year was going to turn out in this particular class they tried not to laugh and cleared their throats instead.

Yes, them pairing up was a disastrous decision since by the end of the lesson the classroom was filled with smokes of all colours. But this was just the beginning. James Sirius and El looked at eachother and had the same idea. Talent like this should not be wasted.

The three friends accompanied by Remus and Peter were moving towards their flying lesson.

"Remus, we can't thank you enough for what you did to us! Really!" Electra said and smiled.

"Yes yes, but guys can we just talk about the fact that Lily Evans covered up for me?! Lily Evans! And I repeat-"

"Lily Evans, yes James we got it! Even though I doubt if she actually covered up for you or El but whatever you say." Sirius said lifting his hands in surrender.

"You're ruining my dream Black..."

"Remus, how did you come up so easily with the excuse?" Peter asked quickly cutting off James's mourning. His question was actually something that had crossed all of their minds but after the accident with the colourful smoke was slightly forgotten.

Remus laughed "Let's just say, personal experience..." He said and started walking forward smiling

"You showed up late for class? And you said I'll cover up for them as well? You're one of a kind Remus!" Sirius said.

"And then Lily joined in? Right?" James added earning a look from the rest of the company

"Yes James, she joined in. But to cover up for El. Sorry man..."

"You're going to destroy me. Don't say things like that so abruptly! I'm not emotionally stable."

"One step at the time James... If she falls for you right away what are you going to do for the rest of your years? You need your freedom! And speaking of freedom. Isn't it a shame that we can't participate to quidditch matches during our first year?"

"I wish I could follow your thoughts." Sirius said to the girl.

"Oh come on! When you're flying you get a feeling of freedom. That's what I'm talking about!"

They exited the castle discussing loudly. The grass beneath their feet was wet due to last night's rain and the smell of rain was wandering around giving a sense of fresh in the air.

"Just because we can't participate in the matches that doesn't mean that we can't support our house." Peter said not knowing what the consequences of what he had just said were.

"You're so right Peter! And I have just the idea on how to do so. Who's in?" James said.

"You're missing some information Potter." Remus said making everyone look at him. They may had known him for four days but they had the impression of him being the good student who doesn't want to mess around. "What? I'd really like to do something other than schoolwork!"

"I think Mr's Black talent in potions should not be wasted."

"Hey! She put the wrong ingredient!" Sirius said pointing towards El who immediately responded "Guess who let me put it in?"

"Guys stop!" Peter said trying to calm things down "He said that as a compliment in short of a way that I didn't understand either..."

"He got the point, he's in!" James said as he put his arm around Peter's shoulders.

The rest of them stood there questioning every word of him but as soon as the professor appeared with lots of broomsticks flying behind her they stopped looking at James and focused on the broomsticks. But James got distracted as well since Evans had just passed in front of him a stood next to Electra who smiled at her and whispered in her ear something at which the redhead replied with a smile.

It was against her family's philosophy and beliefs talking to a girl like her, to a mudblood as her parents would say. But this mudblood saved her from losing points from her house. Her parents may have said that she did that just to pretend being nice but Electra didn't want to believe that. She liked to see the best on others. And as the time was passing, four days away from home are a lot of days, she had started realising that she was different. And she liked being who she was. And she completely understood Perseus and how he acted around their parents each summer. This school had opened their eyes.

"Now bring your hand above the broom and with my whistle say Up!"
The whistle was followed by screams and orders of children to their broomstick to raise but nothing was really happening. There were only four people who had their broomsticks on hand and these were James Potter, Electra Star, Helena Abbott from Ravenclow and Henry Peverel, from Ravenclow as well.

"Very well! And now! I want you to ride your broomsticks and with my whistle you'll push the ground so you'll fly." She whistled and everyone after a while was up in the air but not to far from the ground.

Sirius flew towards James and told him to look up at the castle's window. As soon as he saw McGonagall watching them he immediately leaned over El to tell her about it but the girl for once more taken by surprise she almost fell.

"Potter, you are really trying to kill me don't you?" she said looking down at Lily who was still trying to find her balance. "What is it?"

"Black tell her, I see a fair lady in need" he said referring to Lily and immediately dived to stand next to her and help her finding her balance

"Look at the east window" that was followed by an intense eye contact with McGonagall who smiled at her in the end and turned her back to the window.

"You know what? I think that deep down she likes me." El said and nodded to herself in agreement.
