December 1st, 1975

The four of five Marauders along with Lily and Mary were sitting inside the Three Broomsticks. Peter was in Hogwarts with food poisoning and even though the Marauders insisted on staying with him he told them that he would be fine. Now, how they had ended up there was another story.

"Ha! You? Punch the giant Squid? Okay Potter do it and I'll go out with you." Lily said laughing knowing that this thing was almost impossible. She thought for a minute that he couldn't be so dumb to actually go and punch it.

"I'll get you ready for the date..." Electra said as soon as she saw James smiling at the redhead.

"My dear Evans, I was actually beginning to think that this day wouldn't come. I won't let you down!" James said and kissed Lily's hand making her look confused at him. "Pads! Just in time. We're going to the lake!"

Sirius had just entered the common room when James caught him by his arm and pulled him outside for once more. Remus who was playing wizarding chess with Mary near the fireplace looked at his two friends walking away and exchanged a knowing look with Peter. He stood up. "Someone has to stop them, and no Electra you're not coming with me. If you come you'll end up being the one punching the squid."

Peter stood by Remus and continued "These things need to be dealt with maturity." He said with a formal expression making everyone in the room smile.

"If you get caught don't forget to say that I was responsible for that as well!" Electra said as the two boys were walking away. Lily and Mary looked at her with a questioning look. "What? Being in detention with these guys is something you should pay for!"

James had this huge smile on his face from the moment they had woken up that morning making Lily regret even talking to him. He was begging for her attention but she didn't even give him a look. But he wasn't giving up especially now that he had learnt that Lily was going to spend the holidays on Hogwarts.

"Can you stop smiling like that? You look like an idiot!" Lily said addressing to James who just kept smiling at her.

Sirius turned and looked surprised at his friend with no one realising why until he spoke "She said you look like one!"

James took his eyes off Lily for a moment and smiled even widely and with surprise on his face "She actually did!" And then pretended that he was trying hard to hold back his tears but he eventually actually started tearing up. Lily turned to face Electra who was smiling widely, once looking towards Remus and Mary and once at James who was living the best moments of his life.

She smiled at Lily and then at James "You didn't call him an idiot. You said that he looks like one- Do NOT dare take it back" she added quickly as soon as Lily opened her mouth to speak.

Mary looked at her friends who were smiling and Lily who was quite irritated. None of them was speaking. She was pretty fine though. She was talking to Remus ever since they had left Hogwarts through a secret passage with a huge mirror in front of it. Something that the girl found pretty exciting. "So guys, how did you manage to get away with the squid?"

Sirius let out a laugh and then smirked at the girl who was sitting next to her. "Oh Mary, the squid was the easiest part!"

"Minnie on the other hand was the toughest..." Remus said and exchanged a look with Sirius who just smiled at him and Remus just rolled his eyes but smiled back.

"Sorry but the toughest part will be from now on that we can't swim in the lake!" Electra decided to interfere and moved her glance from Remus to Sirius to James who had turned his head and looking at them too.
