"Good morning beautiful, how did you sleep?"

"I slept well, how about you my love?"

"I slept good since you were next to me last night," Kane replied, giving me a passionate kiss on the lips. Before I could pull away from Kane, he pulled me closer to him, running his fingers along my leg giving me goosebumps.

"Kane, we can't do this while we are at my parent's house. It's just too weird for me."

"I understand babe, and I respect that. Are you ready to get up? I think I smell breakfast cooking."

"Let's do it," So Kane and I got up out of the bed, got dressed quickly and joined my parents in the kitchen for morning coffee and breakfast.

"Good morning love birds, how did you two sleep?" That's been the same question from my dad for the last three mornings now, since Kane and I have been here. Nothing different at first, but once we start having conversation then that's when the new information comes out.

"Good morning dad, we slept great."

"That's great. Kane would you like to join me outside? I'd like to show you something,"

"Sure!" Kane exclaimed to my dad, then the two most important men in my life disappeared outside doing whatever manly thing it was that they were doing. Hopefully dad was being nice to him though.

"Honey, I like Kane. But there's something a little off about him, I don't know what it is. And please don't take this the wrong way, but I just get a gut feeling about Kane that I just don't understand yet. So all I'm really trying to say is just be very careful with him."

"Okay mom, thank you."

"Honey, I know that you're a grown woman, and that you will make your own choices. I don't disrespect that in any way, but please just listen to what I'm saying to you. I'm not saying leave him, I'm just saying, be careful. Watch yourself and keep your guard up; That mans hiding something big; You're just too naïve to see it,"

"It's not that I'm too naïve because I've had the same feeling before too. But I think my questions got somewhat answered. I'm not letting my guard down just yet, it will take a very long while to have that happen, because of what I went through with Harrison. However, I'm not going to let it keep me from trying to atleast be happy. I'm being careful mom, don't doubt me please. I need you to trust me, because yes, something is off with my boyfriend and I do intend to find out what that is."

"You've always been very intelligent. I do trust you, just don't let yourself get cut with a piece of glass from the cup that's already shattered. That's all I'm saying, I'll leave it at that."

"Again mom, thank you. I appreciate you looking out for me, I will take your advice because I've already been doing it. Or atleast trying to the best that I can."

"Babe, we have to go now!" I heard Kane's voice echo through my parents house, interrupting my conversation with my mom and I.

"Kane, what's going on?"

"We need to leave. I will explain everything in the car. It's an emergency, my brother went up to Nashville to try and surprise me, because he didn't know that I would be here, and he was in an accident. The hospital just called me. Please, can you get me home?"

"Yes, babe absolutely. Mom, I'm so sorry. I wish we could stay longer but we need to go find out what's going on with his brother."

"Go, I understand. Call me when you know something!" Kane and I then resorted upstairs to my old bedroom so that we could get our luggage, and fly back to Nashville as fast as we could.

"Bye mom! Love you!" I hollered through the house, before exiting through the front door, Kane trailing behind me. We closed the door behind us, packed the car as quickly as we possibly could, and sped off down the road back to Nashville.

"Babe, I'm here for you always. I'm sorry that this is happening right now, but like I said, I'm here."

"I'm taking you home, dropping you, your luggage, and your car off at your house, then I am going to the hospital from here. I don't want you there, and I don't need you there."

"Kane, what is your problem? I haven't done anything wrong to you. Why are you treating me like this?"

"Just shut your mouth because this is going to be a long ride. We will talk about this later," He said.

I just rolled my eyes, feeling quite angry at him for being so rude to me. I haven't done anything wrong, I was just trying to assure him that I was here for him if he needed anything. That's what a good girlfriend does, but apparently he doesn't know what that even means because he's a rude jerk.

Two hours later we finally pulled into the parking lot of my apartment complex, which meant I could get everything off my chest at that moment.

"I don't know what you're deal is and why you're being so rude to me, but I didn't do anything to deserve it. All I was doing was trying to reassure you that I'm always here, I get that you're stressed and you have a lot on your plate, but treating me like the enemy isn't going to help you any. You talking to me like that was uncalled for, and quite frankly if that's how you're going to treat me when you're stressed, pissed, upset, worried etc. then I don't want you coming back here." I said to him.

I grabbed my things from my car, and walked into my apartment, not another word said from either one of us, which meant one of two things. He would either think on it, and come running back to apologize, or two he would just brush it off and leave me. Either way, I was fine with whatever because nobody is going to talk to me or treat me like that. I was trying to help him, not be the enemy.
